Hillary's campaign manager says 2016 will be an election about 'who voters can trust'

Trust Hillary, or it's off to 'fun camp.'

According to virtually all the polling, Hillary Clinton is not trustworthy. A whopping 57% of respondents - people in both parties - say she has a problem telling the truth. That number isn't getting any better and the more she opens her mouth, particularly if she ends up getting indicted, it's likely to get worse. So, Katie Couric asked her campaign manager about it. "How," she wanted to know, "do you effectively counter that perception?"

"Well, the Republicans, particularly the House Republicans, are trying to dust up this email pseudo-controversy," Mook said. This is part of the standard Clinton play that's been applied to every scandal they've ever endured:
  • Step 1: Deny the scandal exists until it goes away. Claim it's a witch hunt.
  • Step 2: If it doesn't go away, double down on the denial and hold that position for as long as it takes people to get bored with the story.
  • Step 3: When asked about it, declare that it's already been addressed. Argue that it's "old news." Laugh about it.
  • Step 4: If the people don't get bored and wrongdoing is proven, issue a half-hearted apology.
  • Step 5: Revert to Step 1 and begin the process again.
According to Mook, we're still on Step 2 or 3.
"Actually I think this election will be about trust. I think it's about who voters can trust to fight on their side, make their life better, help them afford health care, help them afford college. That's what this election will be about. ...The issue is that the House Republicans, through partisan attacks, are trying to throw her character into question,. All of these claims are bogus. She sat in front of a Republican committee for 11 hours on these controversies, on Benghazi and emails … Absolutely, let's make this about who voters trust to fight for them, and that's going to be Hillary Clinton."

See, in Clintonland, people who point out that Bill and Hillary are constant, habitual, liars have had nothing better to do - for the last 30 years - than create nasty fictions about these fine, upstanding, public servants. The FBI is in on it too. ....Never mind that these claims have, time and time again, been proven to be accurate. You WILL trust Hillary.
