The Earthquake in Haiti has presented this administration with just such an opportunity. Already, Obama has pledged $100 million of our tax dollars to the Haitian recovery but the real cost is expected to reach into the billions. No more need to give to charities because you and your children already have contributed whether you intended to or not. We have private charities in this country because our Constitution does not allow for government to give away our tax money.
Where will the money come from?
Where will the money come from? Will Congress pass legislation to draw it from the treasury? All they’ll find there is a truckload of IOUs. Will it be borrowed from China? Or will Obama donate the money from the remaining $630 billion still remaining in his $787 billion stimulus slush fund? Will the U.S. bare the vast majority of the cost, or will Obama partner with the U.N. to impose an international tax?
It must be nice to be Barack Obama. First the media makes him out to be the long awaited Messiah; then it’s, “Welcome to the White House President Obama. And oh, by the way, here is a $787 billion slush fund gift for you to use anyway you wish during your term in office. Just don‘t tell the people that the money will be spent on your special interest campaign contributors.”
Joe Biden announced today that the Haitian recovery effort will not end with the recovery operation but will be a long term effort to rebuild and sustain the country.
"Our message is simple," Biden said during his stop in South Florida, which has the largest Haitian-American population in the U.S. "We are there to rescue. We are there to secure. We will be there to provide. We will rebuild, and we will sustain."
Could this be a prelude to making Haiti America's 51st state, and another welfare state for the Democrats? “[Haiti] will still be on our radar screen long after it's off of CNN crawler," said Biden. "This is personal," Biden added, referring to White House political director Patrick Gaspard, a Haitian-American who still has family in Haiti.
Biden went on to say: “The Haitian people, they're our friends, they're our partners, our neighbors.” They’re are “partners?” Partners in what - poverty and illegal immigration? In what legitimate venture have Americans ever partnered with Haiti?
At the same time, Haitian illegal aliens living in Florida and scheduled to be deported have been granted amnesty and will be allowed to stay in the U.S., get jobs and welfare, driver's licenses, free healthcare, food stamps, and other privileges of U.S. citizens. It probably won't be long before they are added to the voter rolls as well.
C-130 cargo planes are flying into Haiti loaded with relief supplies and returning loaded with hundreds of Haitian refugees. It's not yet known if they will be given house trailers in the Katrina mobile home park, or if the Obama administration will provide them with a mobile home park of their own. How long will it be before they too are granted amnesty, citizenship, and voting rights?
The Rev. Pat Robertson was recently excoriated and criticized for his remark that Haitian people had made a pact with the devil and this earthquake was an act of God striking back at them.
“They were under the heel of the French, and they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said, ‘We will serve you if you’ll get us free from the French,’ true story. And the devil said, ‘OK, it’s a deal.’ . . . Ever since, they have been cursed by one thing after another.”
I don’t believe there is any connection between the two issues, but did you know that what Robertson said about the pact with the devil is documented in Haitian history? Perhaps it’s just a coincidence that Haiti has been at the center of Voodoo, witchcraft, and devil worship for the past 200 years. But of course, practitioners of this archaic vestige from primitive African animism only represent a small fraction of the Haitian population.
Danny Glover, Earthquakes Global Warming
No connection there says Danny Glover. The earthquake was actually caused by the American policy toward global warming:
“What happened in Haiti could happen to anywhere in the Caribbean because all these island nations are in peril because of global warming. . . . When we did what we did at the climate summit in Copenhagen, this is the response, this is what happens, you know what I’m saying? We have to act now.”
No, I’m not quite sure exactly what the confused Mr. Glover is saying. As a result of Obama’s failure to secure a global warming treaty in Copenhagen, Haiti suffered an earthquake? The logic here completely escapes me...but it appears to be the product of such an ideologically twisted mentality that it descends into idiotic gibberish..
The people of Haiti have suffered a great loss as the result of the earthquake, and are now enduring an unthinkable existence in the hell that was once their home. What has that to do with global warming? Even Michael Mann and the hoax promoting, global warming “scientists” didn’t predict that.
Most Haitians were born into this poverty-ridden country which has no infrastructure, no domestic products, no industry, little education, nothing but poverty - and which exists primarily on foreign aid and welfare from other countries. Any wealth that Haiti may have had, or money the country receives, has been stolen by their reclusive dictators to support a life of luxury for themselves and their families.

No doubt Obama and Emanuel see this "crisis" as a great opportunity for the Democrat party. The people of Haiti have lived all of their lives in poverty, under one corrupt dictator after another. But if Obama and Emanuel think this is an opportunity for them to expand the Democrat voter rolls, they may have a surprise coming.
The Haitian people are extremely independent and self reliant. They are mostly ignored by their government which leaves them to their own initiative to survive. They have been left mostly to fend for themselves by their government. They are a proud people, much like Americans used to be before expanding government bureaucracy began replacing personal responsibility with government dependence.
In Haiti, the only way one can survive is by learning and accepting personal responsibility. If Obama thinks he can force government dependence on these people, he may be in for a shock.
This year, Congress will be considering yet another amnesty bill for illegal aliens. This will no doubt now include Haitian refugees and illegals, and anyone else who wants to come here from Haiti, but Obama shouldn’t count on them to vote Democratic when Haiti becomes our 51st state under the Obama administration.
The Haitian relief and rebuilding effort will be exploited to its fullest advantage by Obama to demonstrate to the world the extreme compassion of his administration, regardless of the cost to the American people. This is another propaganda opportunity for grandstanding on the world stage that Obama will not let go to waste.
It is also another opportunity to bash Bush's handling of the Katrina disaster. The mainstream media wasted no time in making comparisons between Katrina and Haiti, and how our federal government responded to them. Of course the media never mention that it was the Louisiana state and local officials that kept the federal aid out of New Orleans until after the damage had been done.

Reminding people of Katrina will only bolster Obama's efforts to show the world that he is not Bush and that his effort will be far superior and effective. As is typical of this administration and media, the Haitian operation will ultimately not be about Haiti; it will be about Obama. The largest political failure in American history will be characterized as “the savior“ once again.
This earthquake has been a major disaster for the Haitian people. When the recovery effort is over, they will be left with nothing but debris, rot, raw sewage, stench, and disease. How will they deal with that?
Yes, hope and change has come to Haiti. First they got the change, and now they have hope for a new government that will feed and care for them, and house them in the latest modern building technology. The question is whether or not Haitian-Americans will view such dependency as a gift or a threat to their new-found freedom.
Considering Haitian history of self-reliance, they may very well object - and vociferously - to the imposition of abusive taxation on the fruits of their labors here in the Land of the Free, and only for the sole purpose of funding an American underclass that has grown used to existing on handouts from the public trough, a process that is wholly alien to the indigenous Haitian population.
The question is whether a strategic move on the part of the Obama-Biden administration to swell the voting rolls with new Haitian "dependents" will backfire, once today's refugees advance, prosper and become tomorrow's conservative physicians, scholars and successful entrepreneurs.

It is nearly a 100% certainty that We The People will never tolerate an inevitable erosion of our own standard of living, while "King" Obama bestows a new largesse upon Haitian citizens who remain in their homeland.
The rebuilding effort in Haiti is expected to take years, and mostly at the expense of the American taxpayer. Will the Obama administration provide the Haitian people with the tools to build and maintain a new and productive life for themselves, or will they be taken under the wing of the United States as just another welfare state on the public dole and on the Democrat voting rolls?
How can we afford this when we can’t even pay for the unfunded programs this bloated government has already passed into law? - this drunk-on-spending government that never learned to put some reserve aside for a rainy day, but continues to spend money that we don’t have and most likely, never will have - a government that thinks we can spend our way out of a recession and into prosperity while job and income losses continue in the private sector.
And now we’re going to take on nation building out of a pile of rubble in Haiti? Have we completely lost our minds?
