ICYMI: Last night's Pence-Kaine debate

For the moment I'll dispense with my thoughts about what's wrong with these debates, since I had my say on that last week. But if someone asks you who won last night, and you say the Blue Jays . . . well, that's the right answer. But you should see this too. Most people's primary takeaway from this seems to be Kaine's constant interruptions of Pence every time he tried to get a word in edgewise, apparently taking a page from Joe Biden's jerkfest against Paul Ryan four years ago. But Pence did exceedingly well regardless, offering strong, knowledgeable and substantive presentations of the conservative view on how to solve this country's problems.

Trump has two more shots at Hillary on the debate stage. This is the way to go about it. I've said before that I believe Pence would be a major driver of policy in a Trump Administration, and if that's the case you should find last night's performance very encouraging. If Hillary is elected, by contrast, someone probably needs to get her to shut up as often as possible, so Kaine the interrupter seems well qualified for that role. Enjoy!
