If North Korea, Iran, Russia and China are in favor they must be right, aye Barack?

President Obama is planning to make deep cuts to America’s nuclear weapons arsenal, on top of deep cuts that have already been made.

Eighteen former military officers and civilian national security officials of the highest rank recently wrote to Obama and advised him not to go ahead with the cuts because they would seriously jeopardize the national security of the United States. They also advised Obama to modernize and upgrade America’s nuclear weapons arsenal because it badly needs both and failing to do so would also place the national security of the United States in jeopardy.

Signatories include two former Directors of the Central Intelligence Agency, a former Ambassador to the United Nations, a former Commandant of the Marine Corps, a former Chief of Naval Operations, a former Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff, a former Commander of the Eighth Air Force, Strategic Air Command, a former Director of the Strategic Defense Initiative and so on...all hardheaded, experienced people who live in the real world and know what they are talking about, who know that cutting America’s arsenal and failing to modernize and upgrade what’s left will make her far more vulnerable to attack and virtually guarantee that she will be attacked. You can be sure that many, many other former military officers and civilian national security officials of the highest rank think exactly the same and so do current, serving people who are unable to express their opinion publicly because they are serving and those who contradict Obama are penalized and suffer the consequences, which aren’t pretty by any means. What do America’s enemies think? Does North Korea want Obama to make cuts to America’s nuclear weapons arsenal and not modernize and upgrade what’s left? Absolutely. Does Iran want Obama to make cuts to America’s nuclear weapons arsenal and not modernize and upgrade what’s left? Absolutely. Does Russia want Obama to make cuts to America’s nuclear weapons arsenal and not modernize and upgrade what’s left? Absolutely. Does China want Obama to make cuts to America’s nuclear weapons arsenal and not modernize and upgrade what’s left? Absolutely. What about America’s other enemies, al-Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, assorted terrorists, terrorist organizations and terrorist states, the lot, whoever and wherever they may be-do they? Absolutely. So why do the North Koreans, the Iranians, the Russians and the Chinese in particular want Obama to make cuts to America’s nuclear arsenal and not modernize and upgrade what’s left even though all four are working very diligently to increase their nuclear weapons capability...why do the North Koreans, the Iranians, the Russians and the Chinese want Obama to make cuts to America’s nuclear weapons arsenal and not modernize and upgrade what’s left, even though they are all rapidly improving and expanding their own capabilities even as this is being written? Four reasons, really...because without the deterrent effect of nuclear weapons it gives them impunity to attack America itself and/or American interests and assets abroad...because it makes it easier to threaten and intimidate America into acting the way they want it to, makes it easier to impose their will on America...because it gives them free rein to impose their will on America’s friends and allies...because they smell blood. What do America’s friends and allies think about the plans to cut America’s nuclear weapons arsenal and to not modernize and upgrade what’s left? They are appalled, angry, mortified and frightened and busily working to modernize and upgrade their own defenses. Americans should also be appalled, angry, mortified and frightened by these cockamamie plans and should do everything they can to make sure they aren’t implemented. A weak America invites bloodshed, death, destruction and war. A weak America makes bloodshed, death, destruction and war dead certain.. A weak America makes it dead certain that she will be attacked, that American blood will be shed and that America lives will be lost, at home and abroad. A weak America makes it dead certain that America’s friends and allies will be attacked too. The signatories, America’s enemies and America’s friends and allies know all that. Too bad Obama doesn’t know any of it. Or doesn’t care.
