James Madison warned of the dangers of powerful political parties or factions being destructive to representative government.
In his farewell to the American people, General George Washington said: "Political parties serve to organize factions, to give government an artificial and extraordinary force; to put in the place of the delegated will of the nation, the will of the party, often a small but artful and enterprising minority of the community; and according to the alternate triumphs of different parties to make the public administration the mirror of the ill-concerted and incongruous projects of that faction, rather than the organ of consistent and wholesome plans digested by common counsels, and modified by mutual interests."
These parties are likely, in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to USURP FOR THEMSELVES THE REIGNS OF GOVERNMENT, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.
The common and continual mischief's of the spirit of party are sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to discourage and restrain it.
The Founding Fathers built the impeachment clause into the United States Constitution because they feared that a president intent on subverting the very principles upon which the American experiment was built would someday rise to power, and despite all the checks and balances and obstacles they put in place, the Founders knew that a determined cabal could still gain control of all three branches of government and wield this consolidation of power to dismantle our cherished constitutional principles, and eradicate the freedoms that generations of Americans have sacrificed their lives to preserve.
Impeachment is based on “high crimes and misdemeanors,” an old English common law phrase which in the 1600s, meant negligence, abuse of power, and/or abuse of trust.
Obama and his henchmen have promoted dangerous and totally unsustainable policies, and have engaged in illegal and corrupt practices such as bribery (that little matter of offering a position to Joe Sestak, to drop out of the race against Arlen Specter) a crime which the Founders specifically cited as an impeachable offence, together with a clear pattern of outright lying to the American people, which reflects character flaws which are dangerous to the welfare of the nation, and his refusal to provide adequate security for the nation by way of refusing to perform his duties in that regard, this insufferable, narcissistic, incompetent jackass needs to be impeached before we get to the point of mortal destruction as a nation.
The Secretary of Homeland Security and the rest of the administration thinks veterans might be a danger to the country given their combat skills, guess that makes me and all the rest of my fellow veterans THE FEW, THE PROUD, AND THE DANGEROUS.
The only ones we are a danger to, is Washington D.C. and the vipers that reside there.
