That's weird; I could have sworn Gitmo was still open

Incoherent Vice President cites broken Gitmo promise as example of administration greatness

Joe Biden reminds me of a 10-month-old baby. He talks a lot - and you're pretty sure he's trying to say something - but no one can really tell what it is. It's cute, adorable, and fun to watch ...for a while. Then you move on, he keeps going, and it starts to get irritating. Eventually, you find yourself sitting there, hoping someone will just put him to bed.

That's the feeling I got from this clip, where the Vice President addresses the graduating class at the Air Force Academy. In it, he's bragging about the great and glorious moral fiber of the Obama admin. "Part of building that moral foundation," Biden says. "Is the commitment we made to end torture and to close Guantanamo." We're going to give Joe the benefit of the doubt and assume he's talking about the prison within the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base. We're somewhat certain he knows that no one is trying to close the base itself. Yes, that's a dangerous leap to make, but we like Joe, so we're going out on a limb for him. Still, that means that Joe Biden is using one of Barack Obama's very first broken promises as proof of his administration's greatness. The Prison at Guantanamo Bay has, obviously, not been closed. You may have heard of it recently, since it's become known as "the facility that treats terrorists better than the VA treats veterans." Biden went on to claim that "We must not only lead by the power of our example, we must lead by the example of our power as well." If anyone can figure out what, exactly, that means, please let us know.
