Information About Disinformation

Nina Jankowicz, American Sunlight Project

Biden’s former disinformation czar is back in the news. Nina Jankowicz, known for her smug smirk, is attempting to deceive the American people by labeling truth as disinformation. In April 2022, Jankowicz was appointed to oversee a new Department of Homeland Security Disinformation Board. The experiment only lasted approximately one month before it was “paused,” resulting in Jankowicz resigning.

The proposal to create a group to determine what constitutes disinformation has Orwellian overtones of totalitarianism. Still, Jankowicz has launched a new nonprofit organization to try again. However, she immediately resorted to projecting lies and playing the victim by claiming that anyone criticizing disinformation groups like hers is the chief threat to the United States.

In a press release, she had this to say:

“The campaign against counter-disinformation work is the greatest threat to freedom of expression and academic integrity since the McCarthy era.” She then stated that her group would not “allow it to continue. Once researchers are free to conduct their essential work, the American people will gain a better understanding of the nature and severity of the disinformation threats we face. Disinformation knows no political party. Its ultimate victim is our democracy.”

Her group, named the American Sunlight Project, was introduced as a bipartisan advocacy organization founded by Jankowicz that was:

“launched to expose and oppose efforts to weaponize disinformation in the United States. The organization will investigate the networks and money driving disinformation and educate the public about the threats disinformation poses to their daily lives.”
“The first step in the group’s program will involve countering the organized campaign currently challenging the work of disinformation researchers.”

That’s convenient. The first thing the group is going to try to convince the public of is that ONLY they are telling the truth. The question is, who’s Truth?

The group's advisory board is comprised of Katie Harbath, a former Facebook executive; Emily Horne, a former National Security Council official; Ineke Mushovic, from the gay advocacy group Movement Advancement Project; and Ben Wittes, from the left-wing Brookings Institution. Wittes has been referred to as the "bard of the deep state."

Misinformation groups represent the pinnacle of the art of “projecting.” Claiming to promote transparency, they are nothing more than partisan reinforcements for the lies of the left. These groups have been known to give failing grades to right-wing news outlets, and then, in the name of transparency, refuse to share how they came to that conclusion with journalists. Often subsidized by the government, they are subsequently required to walk the party line.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan labeled the scrapped Disinformation Governance Board as:

“Un-American, anti-democratic, and a dangerous escalation of the Biden administration’s embrace of government-endorsed censorship” and stated Americans should never trust Jankowicz to act “as the Biden Administration’s arbiter of truth.”

If you need any more proof that this leftist conspirator cannot be trusted, she posted a totally bizarre video on X where she calls herself the “Mary Poppins of Disinformation.”

More accurately, the “Mary Poppins of leftist lies.” No group has the right to dictate what the truth is. The very fact that they are trying so hard to convince us that they are the anointed ones should tell you all you need to know.
