Injustice Advocate Hochul Removed From Slain Officer’s Funeral

This past Monday NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller was shot and killed. He was murdered making a routine traffic stop. As Jonathan approached the vehicle for parking illegally in front of a bus stop, Guy Rivera opened fire. One shot struck him in the stomach below his bulletproof vest and even though he was rushed to Jamaica Hospital he passed away from the wound.

Jonathan’s partner returned fire and wounded Rivera, who had 21 previous arrests. When arrested, police found that he had a shiv hidden in his rectum, apparently expecting to be returned to prison. Lindy Jones, the driver of the car and also an ex-con, was arrested as well when a second gun was found in his vehicle.

Jonathan was 31 years old and the father of a one-year-old little boy. His life was taken by a career criminal that never should have been on the streets. Yesterday, on the second day of viewing at Diller’s funeral, Governor Kathy Hochul, who signed the bail reform bill into law that paved the way for Rivera’s freedom, arrived at the viewing.

Arriving at approximately 1:45 pm, Hochul was inside for around 10 minutes. In an interview with the NY Post, a witness only identified as Stephanie described a confrontation between Jonathon’s 29-year-old widow and Hochul.

“[It looked] like she was telling [Hochul] off. It didn’t look like the widow had a kind word to say.”

Then as she was leaving, Hochul was confronted by an emotional mourner in a black suit. According to the NY Post, the man pointed firmly and was obviously upset with Hochul’s presence. As the man walked away from Hochul, bystanders applauded her departure.

Hochul had asked the NYPD, the NYPD Police Benevolent Association, and the Nassau County Police Benevolent Association ahead of time about attending. However, before the weekend services, Sergeants Benevolent Association President Vincent J. Vallelong wrote a blistering letter warning members of the City Council not to attend the services.

In an interview with the NY Post, he stated:

“Adrienne Adams, Jumaane Williams, and their cohorts should stay home.” Pointing out the two local lawmakers who pushed the council to reject Mayor Eric Adams’ veto on the “How Many Stops” Act in January.
“They detest cops and have no appreciation for what they do. They should stay home and not pretend they are grieving. They have caused enough heartbreak and destruction.” He then added that their presence “is a stain on the legacy of a true hero who made the ultimate sacrifice.”

I’m glad that Hochul’s “photo op” ended so badly for her. She passed bail reform and refused to repeal it. She could have removed Soros-backed DA Alvin Bragg but didn’t. She is an uncaring liberal who cares nothing about human life and will sacrifice anyone and anything to fulfill the sick liberal agenda of the Democrats.
