Into the Witless Protection Program

It appears State Department Spokeswoman Jen Psaki has been promoted to the position of Director of Communications at the White House, or as I like to think of it, the Witless Protection Program. Don’t get me wrong, I think Psaki is a perfectly capable individual and it may be wrong to blame the stupid statements for which she is well-known on her, as she was merely fulfilling the mandates of her job by parroting the Administration line.

But that’s the problem with an administration that attempts to disguise its inherent dishonesty as nuance. Whether it’s the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the pink line in the sand for Bashar Assad’s WMDs, the scandal of Benghazi or the gory orgy of rape, pillage, beheading and immolation by ISIS, the Obama Administration never seems to be able to see, hear or speak about evil, choosing instead to pretend that it is something else. But then if evil were seen and identified, it would mean that action would have to follow. Sadly, the Obama administration has no stomach to act against evil, even while parroting the UN drivel about the Responsibility to Protect (R2P). So the hapless spokespeople tasked with selling the Obama snake oil are seen as witless morons. Can there be anything more pitiful than the ridicule heaped on Marie Harf for her outrageous suggestion that ISIS exists because of unemployment? Is there an argument more specious that the ISLAMIC STATE OF IRAQ AND SYRIA has nothing to do with Islam? And how ridiculous are the various hashtag campaigns that Jeb Bush derided as a replacement for “actual diplomacy and engagement?” It’s a fact that nature abhors a vacuum and the vacuum created by America’s abrogation of power will be filled by another power or quite possibly, several other powers.

It’s a small wonder that White House Press Secretaries come and go with such frequency, as they are forced to say such ridiculous things they look totally foolish. Some of their statements are on par with those of Baghdad Bob. I’m sure Josh Earnest hates getting up in the morning. The most egregious international blunder of this administration is the “negotiations” they have carried out with Iran. The end result will be that Iran will have nuclear weapons and will fill the vacuum left by America’s lack of engagement. Most frightening of all is the prospect that another 6 million Jews will die as a result of this negligence. But then, negotiation has never been Obama’s strong suit. Vladimir Putin is famously quoted as saying, “negotiating with Obama is like playing chess with a pigeon; the pigeon knocks over all the pieces, sxxxs on the board and then struts around like it won the game.” It’s a small wonder that Germany’s Chancellor, Angela Merkel, is now universally considered leader of the Free World! The worst part of this Administration’s witlessness is that it is a reflection of the witlessness of American voters who twice elected a president that couldn’t successfully run a Tupperware party, much less run the world last remaining superpower. I once believed that the idea of literacy testing for voters was an outrage. But the reign of Obama has caused me to reconsider.
