"Plans are being made to promote a national holiday for Barack Obama, who will become the nation's 44th president when he takes the oath of office Jan. 20. 'Yes We Can' planning rallies will be at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. every Tuesday at the downtown McDonald's restaurant, 1100 Kansas Ave., until Jan. 13."The goals are to secure a national holiday in Obama's honor, to organize celebrations around his inauguration and to celebrate the 200th birthday of President Abraham Lincoln, who was born on Feb. 12 1809. "At 7:30 a.m. on Inauguration Day, Obama Cake will be served at the downtown McDonald's, and a celebration is scheduled for 8 p.m. to midnight Jan. 20 at the Ramada Hotel and Convention Center, 420 S.E. 6th." My only question: Is there some way to speed this process up, big time? The whole idea would have better bite and be more profound if President Bush executed one last Executive Order to establish "Barack Obama Day" into law before January 20, 2009, to avoid even the slightest appearance of collusion. Besides, this could be the only Bush EO with even a remote chance of surviving the Obama ax. Who is willing to approach W. and present the EO to him for signature? Finally, the idea of "Obama Cake" does have appeal for those who love devil cake. Perhaps Obama Cake can be made the official White House dessert? **Source:

John W. Lillpop is a recovering liberal. “Clean and sober” since 1992 when last he voted for a Democrat. For years, John lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, the very liberal sanctuary city which protects, rather than prosecutes, certain favored criminals. John escaped the Bay Area in May and now lives in Pine Grove California where conservative values are still in vogue.
