In a recent video “Truth Be Told: Hell Is Real“[1], Amir Tsarfati, from Behold Israel Ministries, made a compelling case that Heaven and Hell are real based on the Bible. The presumption is that eternity itself is provably real.
In an article in World Net Daily, “Young Hoon Kim - Jesus is the answer - Korean World’s Highest IQ“[2], Jim Hoft presents the argument of YoungHoon Kim, from the video “What happens when you die“, that eternity is real. YoungHoon makes two provocative statements, first, that our conscious self remains after the body dies based on quantum physics.
“... quantum physics says that information never disappears—never. It only changes in form. If our consciousness is quantum information, it may continue after the body is gone.”
And, he asserts that, through quantum entanglement, the universe we experience is part of something bigger.
“Quantum entanglement suggests that our consciousness is part of a bigger system beyond the physical world.”
I have only a cursory knowledge of quantum mechanics and am new to the concepts of quantum information and quantum entanglement. I had to do my own research to understand these topics. I want to share what I have learned.
Quantum mechanics is a theory that models activity at the subatomic level. It describes systems that classical physics cannot. Classical physics is constrained to the macroscopic level, describing the behaviour of large objects. It cannot describe what is happening at the subatomic level.
The term quantum comes from the observation that, at the subatomic level, energy is constrained to discrete levels or quanta. There is no continuum of energy levels. It also observed that subatomic particles exhibit both particle and wave phenomena. Its development started at about 1900 and grew through the 1920s and beyond, and is embodied in a set of mathematical formulae which are stochastic in nature. Quantum physics envelopes classical physics, that is, classical physics can be viewed as a subset of quantum physics.
Quantum information is the information of the state of a quantum system. The state of an object in a quantum system is the set of conditions (variables) that describe it. In classical mechanics, variables such as mass and velocity describe the state of an object.
Quantum information is an interdisciplinary field that involves quantum mechanics, computer science, information theory, philosophy, cryptography and other fields such as cognitive science and neuroscience. These give credence to the idea that our consciousness is quantum information and cannot be lost.
That Quantum information cannot be lost is based on it being an unitary system. The unitary nature of quantum mechanics is a core rule and states that in time evolution the total probability of all possible outcomes always adds up to 1. The No Hiding Theorem is based on the unitary property and proves that when quantum information is lost from a specific subsystem, it cannot truly vanish, it appears in another.
In an article on quantum entanglement[3], Cinnamon Pritchard makes the following statements:
This is where the idea that quantum entanglement needs extra dimensions comes from. That information needs to travel between two entangled particles instantaneously. The author also offered an example from classical physics:
The “exist both on the table and on Mars at the same time” is Quantum superposition. Quantum superposition predicts that a particle can be in two different places at the same time. This has been demonstrated in the world of high energy physics at the particle level[4] and at the molecular level[5]. In the video “How higher dimensions can explain quantum entanglement“[6], Alyssa Ney explains that with higher dimensionality, both particles that seem to be in different places in 3-space, are actually in the same place.
It means that our universe comprises more than the 3 space dimensions and 1 time dimension we see around us. There are other dimensions which are not directly discernable. This would have to be the case for Jesus to walk through walls as He did in John 20:19 and 26.
Supersymmetric String Theory posits the same thing, that there are extra dimensions around us. String theory assumes that particles, rather than being points as does classical mechanics, are vibrating strings. It is attempting to bring together quantum mechanics (the theory of small things) with Einstein’s General Relativity (the theory of large things). Supersymmetry, a branch of string theory, requires 10 space dimensions and 1 time dimension. We only witness three dimensions, because if there are more than three discernable space dimensions, you could not have stable orbits, and without stable orbits, you cannot have life. An UFO researcher, Jacques Vallee, attributes the UFO phenomenon to interdimensional travel, which requires added dimensions, as opposed to intergalactic travel.
The bottom line is that there is more to this universe than we can perceive. We are connected to the spirit world which seems to occupy some alternate world. Genesis 2:7 says
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground (body), and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life (spirit); and man became a living soul (mind).
We are created body, mind and spirit and our spirit is connected to this other world. As a result, YoungHoon Kim, asserts that our consciousness is eternal. It may change form when we die, but it continues.
In a second video, he professes that with all his reading and searching, he has come to one conclusion: Jesus is the answer. This is the transcript of the video.
We have come to the end of our journey, and we have found that eternity is real; heaven is real; hell is real. Where you will spend eternity, think about that, where you will spend eternity is up to you. The choice is yours.
