Islamic Non-Profit Launches Lawsuit Against Truck Convoy Organizer

-- Brad Salzberg Court records show that an Islamic non-profit organization in Canada is suing Benjamin Dichter, one of the main organizers of the recent Truckers Convoy protest in Ottawa. Alleging Mr. Dichter was part of a defamation campaign, the $2.5-million libel claim claims the defendant is among a group of people who falsely stated an Islamic charity violated Canada’s terrorist-financing laws.

What qualifies the Convoy as a "hate campaign" is nebulous at best

The legal suit has been exposed by the Globe & Mail in an article on the freezing of $10 million dollars in GoFundMe funds raised for the Truckers Convoy. Opponents of the protest have been out in full force in an attempt to control the fate of the millions. The lawsuit claims that Mr. Dichter "is a critic of the supposed influence of Islam in Canadian society." Myriad entities attempt to influence society. They always have, and they always will. It will be interesting to see if this case qualifies in Canadian courts as a breach of the law. Corporate officials have met with local police to freeze $10-million raised in support of the truck drivers’ convoy protest. GoFundMe is not currently accepting further donations or distributing any of the funds. Opponents of the protest– a legal expression of freedom of speech during which no arrests occurred– want more. A committee of MPs has voted to summon GoFundMe to Parliament to answer questions about company’s ability to screen out hate campaigns. What qualifies the Convoy as a "hate campaign" is nebulous at best. Much of it focusing on an appearance of a man in the crowd waving a swastika-adorned flag.  Media have gone bonkers over the issue. Included in every mainstream news article, one would believe the flag-waiver is indicative of every individual who attended the rallies.

In basic terms, the Canadian establishment are not happy. By its very nature, the protest is an abhorrence. The behaviour of the crowd is secondary. The thousands could stand on their heads and spit loonies, and the establishment would have still branded them racists. It’s a way of life in post-modern Canada as perpetrated by our post-modern power structure. In 2022, power is found in a composite of forces: government, media, religious communities, LGBT advocates, academic and health "experts." If the cabal doesn’t approve of citizen behaviour– watch out. It doesn’t matter much what the interlopers do– it all boils down to the usual suspects– those who dare to thwart Canada’s current power elite. Locked in a prison of woke political correctness, the rest of us are commanded to follow a singular order: do exactly what you are told. Do not challenge neo-authoritarian rule. Be good boys and girls, and Canada’s new breed of power-players will not condemn you as racist bigots. After which government and media apply a term to encapsulate this social phenomenon: they call it "Liberalism."
