‘Nola public space managers and securers have by the grace of God or sheer luck that its incessant gatherings haven't been targeted by politically violent suspects, as opposed to ample apolitical ones. Not quite a counter terror strategy to fill one with confidence.

The recent car attack on Christmas crowds in Germany, as well as past ones and other modes of terror like riveting knife attacks and ideologically inspired mass shootings should be taken very seriously in this city of the eternal party.

Private protectors, venue and event organizers are on their own to create 'safe fun' against apolitical & political violence.’

Public space security during this politically volatile era is no longer an abstract concept nor the province of academics and alphabet soup agency operatives.

It's a front line priority for the foreseeable future and planners at all levels of society should mobilize with this fact in mind.
