Jeb! gives low-energy interview to Dutch paper, basically calls Trump a racist

It's hard to blame Jeb! Bush for being angry at Donald Trump. Anyone who's ever been on the losing end of a playground brawl knows it takes a while to get over the sting of a real drubbing. However, you want to walk away with your head held high. You don't want to run to the other kids and start yapping about how much you hate the guy who just gave you a fat lip. It makes you look weak and, instead of helping you move on, it just reminds everyone just how easy you were to beat. Apparently, Jeb! never learned that.

In an interview with Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad (as reported by the HuffPo), Bush said:

“Parties no longer stand for anything, but become a vehicle for the ambitions of their leaders. Politics becomes a personality show.”

In other words, Jeb! has figured out that lately it feels like political parties exist solely to pave the way for their personally favored candidate, and - on certain occasions we could mention - that person is someone that the party's base will never support. When the elites try to ram a milquetoast down the voters' throats, people with bigger personalities tend to do well. There's probably a lesson there for Jeb! if he's interested in a little introspection. Jeb! also took some time during his interview with a foreign paper to tell everyone that the next President might be a big, fat, insensitive, racist. You'll remember Trump's Cinco De Mayo tweet:

Jeb! was appalled, and he went full Debbie Downer to make sure everyone knows it.

“What Trump did was so insensitive,” Bush told NRC. “First, not all Hispanics are Mexican. Secondly, not all Hispanics eat tacos. Thirdly, showing your sensitivity by eating an American dish is the most insensitive thing you can do. Fourthly, to say this, next to all things he already said, is a further insult. It’s like eating a watermelon and saying ‘I love African-Americans.’”

Good Lord. No wonder this politically-correct, whining beta couldn't secure the nom. Voters, on all sides of the political spectrum, have had enough of the whinging, the hand wringing, and the crocodile tears. If this weak-sauce is the best attack Jeb! can muster - three months after dropping out - just imagine the abject destruction he would have faced had he clinched the nomination and been forced to walk into the Clinton's media buzz saw.

“This guy,” Bush added. “If we lose in November, we Republicans have ourselves to blame.”

Finally, there's something we can all agree on. If the GOP loses in November, it will be the end result of 25 years of capitulation, failure, and betrayal. Republican party elites will have only themselves to blame.
