Jim Webb to end nonexistent campaign for Democrat nomination

Before last week's debate, there's a good chance that most Democrats didn't know Jim Webb was running for President. They are, after all, predominantly low-info voters. Their party's debate - between Hillary, Bernie, this guy, that guy, and some other guy - was probably the first exposure many lefties had to anyone other than the frontrunners.

...And it looks like it's going to stay that way, because the first of four Democrat candidates with no chance of winning has decided to call it a day. Jim Webb is ending his pursuit of the Democratic nomination. Maybe it's because he never really got above 1% in the polls. Perhaps it's because his campaign managed to make Lindsey Graham's look like a political juggernaut. Or maybe it's just that a man who used to kill socialists and communists looked uncomfortable sharing the stage with people who share those ideologies. Whatever the reason, he's decided to make his exit. I'd say that's a loss for the Dems, since he was the only person on the debate stage who sounded like an actual adult, but that's not what the left wants in a leader. If you're not a shrill, angry, race-baiting, class-baiting socialist, you are no longer welcome among their ranks. Webb is a principled, middle-of-the-road liberal. They're not interested in that, so Webb is making the right call. The modern Democrat party has no place for a man like Jim Webb.
