In the same month that 90 Paul Mueller Co. workers got pink slips, 82 more layoffs were announced this week, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Office Don Golik confirmed this morning.
Golik said the layoffs affected members of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 208, and are effective this week.
The layoffs are a result of a downturn in the level of business orders, "... as is the case with everybody," Golik said. As workload picks up, he added, "... we would return those people to work as soon as we could."...more
