Reid's & Pelosi's minions have already fired and wasted much of their rhetoric and gained little or nothing

John Boehner wins the first skirmish

"This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." -Winston S. Churchill, November 10, 1942, speech about the Battle of Egypt. POLITICO says the Friday budget negotiation deal is a victory for Boehner, but their tone seeks to to minimize the victory, stifle momentum, and set Tea Party Republicans against GOP Leadership.

I say the GOP should celebrate the gain and build on the lessons learned! Counting the Billions already cut via Continuing Resolutions [$10-12 Billion depending on whose numbers you use] this is roughly a $50 Billion short term deal for last year's budget [actually a 1/2 year budget as Ryan explains]. Rep. Daryl Issa [R-CA] says it represents $79 Billion. So let's get on with it. Let's play chess with this gain, not checkers. This is an opening gambit, nothing more. The Democrats, like their Jackass symbol, are too stubborn and do not have patience too play chess, they have limited moves and tricks, and are proving that they are not smart enough to win this budget war. Pelosi and Reid and their Lieutenants are ideologues and brawlers. They are not intellectual luminaries. They may be clever, but clever does not equal smart. "Pride goeth before the fall." That $50 Billion cut can be seen as "chump change" by many. I hear that being said in one way it is. I understand fully lots of folks' disappointment. But, one must step back and take a second look. Being a military guy, I see this as a successful opening skirmish by our "pickets." Boehner's "reconnaissance" [if that is indeed what this is] has revealed some or many of their tricks. We are seeing the same sorry Democrat tricks and traps as before. As the old proverb says, "A dog always returns to its vomit." Reid's & Pelosi's minions have already fired and wasted much of their rhetoric and gained little or nothing. Their pawns are falling and it's only a matter of time until their Queen, Bishops, Rooks and Knights are exposed and carelessly sacrificed. They have already "castled" Obama. Polls show that the People are tired of hearing the incessant, nonsensical rhetoric about cutting off senior healthcare, Grandma eating "dog food" and Republicans "killing women." The only ones dying out there are tiny babies in Planned Parenthood Abortion Clinics. The hour draws nigh when the Democrats shall once again resurrect old, dead Herbert Hoover for another thrashing The will make senseless accusations that somehow the GOP brought on Obama's profligate spending, absence of results, high unemployment and prices, and inflation about to sky rocket. Yes, these are the fruits of the Great Obama Transformation. The day is hopefully gone forever when a smirking Nancy Pelosi can insultingly tell Taxpayers that they will have to wait until it is passed to see what is in the bill. The GOP did not fall on their sword this time. Good. You can only do that one time. Now ain't that time. There is one battle looming over the Debt Ceiling and another over Rep. Paul Ryan's Budget. Obama will settle for what Senate Leader Harry Reid [D-SEIU] puts on the table and he will chop it up if that is what he needs to do to save himself. The $3.7 Trillion budget proposal gives the man a lot of wiggle room." After all, says Obama, "The US must live within its means." He doesn't mind sacrificing his "Queen" under the bus to maintain his castle. It will be Boehner's, Cantor's, and Ryan's job transform wiggle room into squirming. There will be lots of time in the immediate future for the Tea Party to dump some tea, and to draw these Democrat Socialists out into the open. Conserve ammunition for now. We need leadership for the long haul. Recall that smarty-pants Gingrich was eventually dissected by Clinton's goons publicly for his personal peccadilloes. Boehner has no such baggage, nor does Cantor, nor does Ryan. Again, the Folks are tired of that stuff. Stay out of the weeds. I think we, just maybe, saw some rope-a-dope on Boehner's part. This negotiation was made easier by the IQs of his main adversaries, and their ideological mental illness. Now the tough part begins. The harder and more protracted the battle is, the more these Marxists will spew their hateful rhetoric. So here is a suggestion for the GOP: Speak and act like a thoughtful physician. Let them act like some crack addict who just lost a quick fix. You will win the American People. Game over. The People are starting to wake up and see the mess we are in. The more the Democrat Progressives and their Marxist pals in and out of government start to squeal, and show signs of dependency-withdrawal, the more the GOP should teach the People about the Democrat-manufactured crisis. The Democrats bray because they are scared, and because they have nothing to offer except higher taxes, more spending and a bigger bureaucracy. Let's not just play for Check this time. Let's play for Check-Mate!
