President Trump is absolutely right to point out the staggering stupidity of the United Kingdom handing over the strategically vital Chagos Islands to a country more than 1,200 miles away that has no connection to them (and that happens to be a vassal of China), purely as an act of performative atonement. More importantly, it shows that the people running Europe cannot, under any circumstances, be trusted with an even more consequential geostrategic asset, Greenland. The real world is far too dangerous to allow Europeans to play at geopolitics.
