I recently attended an event where Mark McCloskey spoke. This is the Mark McCloskey who, with his wife, stood on the porch of his private home, armed, as a riotous ANTIFA crowd came on to his property and threatened his life after breaking down the gates of his gated community. That’s not the version the mainstream media presented or the woke District Attorney (DA) portrayed. The media and the DA vilified the McCloskeys as was common in those days. The McCloskeys, who are both attorneys, now travel all over America supporting the Second Amendment and Republican candidates.

Although their story is interesting, Mark made some comments I found a bit disturbing. As Mark has been talking to Republicans all over the United States, he related hearing about weakening of support for some of the things President Trump is doing. How valid are his impressions? I have no way of knowing for sure.

However, if he is hearing the concerns of Republicans who are “political machine” Republicans, I would have to question his conclusions. Many in “the machine” were happy as hell to ride President Trump’s coattails into their elected office. But we must remember to “the machine,” Trump is an embarrassment for doing the things that the machine politicians promised but never delivered on. There exists some animosity by career professional politicians who are Republicans, but not MAGA Republicans, and we must not forget that there are still RINO Republicans hiding in the weeds. It would not be unexpected for machine Republicans to pooh-pooh things President Trump is doing, when you watch what is currently going on in Congress.

That being said, if Mr. McCloskey is hearing the words of grassroots Republicans, that is troubling. In 2016 and again in 2024, we elected Donald J. Trump as our 45^th and 47^th President of the United States because we had faith in him. He said he would Make America Great Again and he has, in fact, done it now twice. We also learned that there are many, many snakes in the grass trying to undermine every effort of the Trump administration. These subversive evil agents are continually trying to plant seeds of doubt concerning Trump’s efforts.

Mark Twain had it right; the mainstream media and even Fox News are not totally reliable anymore. What we must do is watch the results the Trump administration is actually producing, and with damn few exceptions, not listen to the talking heads. We must also remember that the Trump team has far more information than you and I. Our uninformed judgements are out of line. We must just keep the faith.

Contrary to some reports that Trump is losing his MAGA followers, I believe that is BS. The MAGA gang is and always will keep the faith. The MAGA faithful understand that President Trump is unconventional and does things politicians would never do, and that’s why we love him.

The worst characteristic of the Republican Party machine is its inability to hang together. Even though that is a trait embraced by the Founding Fathers, it is a suicide pact politically in the 21^st century. On the other hand, that is the main strength of the Dumocrat Party; they hang together even with some of the stupidest ideas on the planet. That is how the socialists have taken over that party. I fear that the divisiveness within the Republican Party could be the downfall of America, if they don’t take advantage of their time with a majority in Congress and Trump as President. America needs to move back to the right.

So for any doubters out there, buck up, because when President Trump leaves office he will leave behind the greatest America that ever was. I pray to God that we will be able to keep it.
