My friend Krista Branch sent me this link this morning, and it seemed so appropriate for Veterans Day.
In this wonderful song and video, Krista not only deals with the sacrifice made by our servicemen and servicewomen, but also by those who love them and deal with their absence - never knowing for sure if there will be a reunion.
However we pay tribute to our veterans today, we need to remember that there is really no compensation we can ever provide them that is worthy of the sacrifice they've made. They deserve to be paid well, but even so, they make this sacrifice ultimately because they believe in freedom and they believe in the principles of this nation. As Krista shows us here, the price they pay for that is often far more than most of us could bear, and certainly more than we could ever pay them back for.
