An artist has been commissioned to design a Christmas card for a leading UK charity.
Susie Lidstone from Surrey, UK, was approached by Bright Research, the bowel cancer charity, and has produced ‘Village Toys’ for this year’s card.
“I was approached by Dawn Stanford of Bright Research because she loved my work especially Trees in Farnham, and I was a local artist,” says Susie, an elected and exhibiting member of The Society of Floral Painters and an elected member of The Society of Architectural Illustrators.
“Much of their work is based at The Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford and St Lukes, which specializes in Cancer care. The choice of image was down to me. I did discuss it with Dawn and as a lot of their work is with children's cancer research as well a toy shop seemed ideal. Making it an old fashioned shop should suit adults, too.”

The initial print run with Jones Creative Serives in Leatherhead will be for 1,000 cards then ongoing after that.
Jones Creative Services Ltd in Leatherhead helped with the printing costs.
