Liberal professor fired for attacking liberal student protesters - Warning: Language

Warning...the language gets pretty foul in this one, so if you're easily offended, now's a good time to move on.
The University of Oregon was the site of a bizarre incident between adjunct law professor James Olmsted and a group of groan-worthy student activists calling themselves "Students Against Imperialism." According to UO's student newspaper, The Daily Emerald, "Students Against Imperialism" set up a protest involving a "mock border patrol checkpoint" designed to shine a light on the evil anti-minority policies of United States immigration. As the Emerald puts it, the rally was "a political theater demonstration meant to bring awareness to human rights issues of immigrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border and of Palestinians in the Israel-Palestine conflict." Because the US/Mexico border and the Israel/Palestine conflict are apparently the same thing?

That makes about as much sense as "Occupy Wall Street," but whatever. These sorts of things seldom function with any sort of logic. At least the rally was peaceful ...for a while. Things turned ugly when Olmsted went ballistic. “We were prepared for having people who were not going to agree with us,” said Jaki Salgado, one of the Students Against Imperialism founders. “We never expected anyone to come up to the group and be so blatantly racist.” Stranger still is the fact that Olmsted is a liberal professor who actually supports the cause. Unfortunately for Olmsted, cell phones are everywhere. The cameras were rolling as he had his meltdown. "If you want this country back," Olmsted says in the video, "start a # war and take it back. Start a war, shoot me first. I'm right here. Shoot me first. Instead of just being # and talking, do something." We can only assume no one shot him because they were in a “gun-free zone.” Essentially, Olmsted didn't think the protest went far enough. He cites the Native American takeover of Alcatraz as something that was "very, very, brave" and was evidently up to his radical standards. "This is nice," he claims, "but it’s very small. Just realize how small.” As he got more and more belligerent, students were getting a bit freaked out, and they start yelling back. "You're in no point to tell us how to # liberate ourselves," one student complains. "Yeah! You're the one who's oppressing us!" Things continue to escalate and the kids resort to the liberal coping mechanisms they'd been taught. "This is an aggressive tone. I'm feeling a little threatened right now," one of them says. Shockingly, this announcement doesn't help. The situation spirals out of control, and Olmsted gets into a shoving match before noticing the camera and snatching it out of its owner’s hands. It ends up in his pocket, but the audio keeps recording. Despite claims that he was “Part of your performance - you need a protagonist – you’d be surprised at how much I’m on your side – I’m a sarcastic caricature of what I am,” Olmsted has since been fired. His duties have been reassigned, and Oregon Police have cited him with second-degree theft, as well as two counts of physical harassment. It’s a lot of fun watching leftists destroy their own cause but, as Josiah Ryan of campus advocacy group “Campus Reform” told Fox News, "If a liberal professor attacks like-minded students in this way, I can only imagine how he would have treated students of an opposing viewpoint." Here’s the tape….
