During the past election, and I'm preaching to the choir, many promises were made to a relatively, politically-ignorant support base that bought the line unconditionally. However there are some people who know how the world operates, and just because Barack Obama claims he can heal the sick, shade us from the Sun, and fix the dollar, they know it don't make it so.

Investors had been expecting the Obama administration to unveil a shock-and-awe solution Tuesday for the nation’s hobbled banking system. But the main reaction was disappointment as the new plan raised more questions than it answered, sending stock markets — and the shares of banks assumed to be holding swaths of toxic assets — sharply lower. Why is it that historians, economists, and anyone with common sense knows a government infusion of money won't restart an economy talked-down by the very people now attempting to restart it? Maybe the threats of impending doom are a bit over the top….
