Louis C.K. directs movie about Harvey Weinstein (or is it Roman Polanski?)

Louis C.K. directs movie about Harvey Weinstein or is it Roman Polanski One of the great questions of 2017 will be why comedian Louis C.K. didn't put a hold on the upcoming movie that he directs and stars in, by, say, releasing it a year from now. Louis C.K. plays a middle-aged father in I Love You, Daddy. Chloë Grace Moretz plays his 17-year-old daughter, and John Malkovich plays a famous Hollywood director who has a thing for very young women. Mr. C.K.'s character introduces his daughter to the director at a party and, well, you can guess the rest. And if you can't, then here's the trailer in all its poorly timed glory:

The scandals have also focused media attention on director Roman Polanski, who drugged and raped a 13-year-old girl back in 1977

Even if you have lived in a cave for the last month, you are probably aware of the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment and assault scandal. Now more actors of both sexes are coming forward about other such men, includingJames Toback, Chris Savino, Mark Halperin and, most recently, Kevin Spacey. The scandals have also focused media attention on director Roman Polanski, who drugged and raped a 13-year-old girl back in 1977 and then fled the U.S. to avoid prison time. But don't worry. Polanski is being honoredin Paris, and Hollywood still loves him:

Nor should you feel bad about any of the people involved in Louis C.K.'s Lolita-ish new film. Apparently, they all thought that an older man having a sexual relationship with an underage girl was the proper topic for a comedy. Hopefully, interviewers will ask uncomfortable questions about how the movie's theme dovetails with current events. It will be fun to watch the sanctimonious Moretz try to answer them as she is out promoting the film. We can only hope those questions will cause the greatest discomfort to the even more sanctimonious Mr. C.K. He loves to lecture white people about how black people feel, and last year implored his "conservative readers" ("He actually assumes he has some?"--The Wife) to "Please stop...voting for Trump." He explained: It was funny for a little while. But the guy is Hitler. And by that I mean that we are being Germany in the '30s. Do you think they saw the sh-t coming? Hitler was just some hilarious and refreshing dude with a weird comb over who would say anything at all... We shouldn't have to vote for someone because they're not a shocking c--billionaire liar. We should choose based on what direction the country should go... If you are a true conservative, don't vote for Trump. He is not one of you. He is one of him. Everything you have heard him say that you liked, if you look hard enough you will see that he one day said the exact opposite. He is playing you. With a little luck, a reporter will ask Mr. C.K. how he can be such an insufferable scold while putting out movies that make light of predatory men.
