Loving Yourself Enough To Defend Yourself

I just posted this 'Grouchy Morale Booster' about a topic near and dear to my heart: loving yourself enough to defend yourself:

My admittedly 'grouchy' approach to morale and motivation often revisits the theme of self-defense.

This dynamic isn't due to being some sort of malcontent. Far from it. It's recognition that the ‘werewolf’, as I call sudden violence and violation of boundaries, is treated like a harmless puppy in ‘blue,’ Democratic-led cities whose streets and sidewalks run red with innocent blood.

Often, those with whom I create safety here are left-of-center folks, many very left-of-center. Their ideology takes a distant back seat to mobilizing them to create their own safety, in quiet defiance of excesses encouraged by leftist ideology. The grassroots leftist, like his or her mainstream Democrat peer, is increasingly unwilling to accept wholesale murder, rape, carjacking, armed robbery, burglary, assault, and rampant theft as 'just the way things are', according to apologists within their coalition.

As local officials direct police to ignore calls for service and misclassify crime to produce the illusion of crime reduction to favor a new mayor's image, criminals are still on the loose and harm inflicted remains very real.

As a 'non prosecuting' District Attorney as I call him refuses to sufficiently prosecute community traitors, we can't refuse to take steps to defend ourselves in the face of such dereliction of duty.

Against this local backdrop of political spin and unaddressed traitors to safety, urging people to love themselves enough to defend themselves is the only decent thing to do.

In this equation, I'm not the malcontent. Politically enabled criminals are the malcontents and we must love ourselves enough to defend ourselves against them.
