Luck is where you find it
Forget about your woes,
Just look about you here and there
Along the paths you go.

Look for something different,
For something out of place.
Cast about for what the others missed,
And never search in haste.

Luck is often hiding,
You won’t find it on a map.
It won’t be in a castle’s keep
Or resting in your lap.

But look behind the cupboard
Or where you park your car.
Look for what may glint the sun
Close by or maybe far.

And if you’ll keep on looking
You just might find it soon,
But you must be the looker
‘cause it never looks for you.

And when good fortune comes your way
With a big reward or small,
Be sure to share with others
The joy of your windfall.
