Mecklenburg Commissioner candidate says gunshots 'intentionally directed' at his home

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Multiple gunshots struck the home of a Mecklenburg County Board of Commissioners candidate Monday night while he and his family were inside, the candidate said Tuesday.

Aaron Marin, a Republican running for the District 1 seat, said in a social media post that shots were "intentionally directed only at our house" while he was home with his wife and two young sons.

"By God's grace, we are all safe and unharmed — but as a husband and father, there are no words to describe the shock of hearing gunfire directed at your home," Marin wrote.

Marin said the Huntersville Police Department and crime scene investigators responded immediately to the incident. Huntersville police did not immediately respond to a request for information from WCNC Charlotte. ---More...
