It’s a gorgeous weekend here on Lake Logan Martin, Talladega, Alabama. The sun is shining, and the weather is cooler than normal. It’s day three of perfect holiday weather. And people are taking full advantage of it. Like our founder Adam Selene, as an old dude, I am tickled pink seeing American families out on the lake taking advantage of a 3-day weekend accompanied by perfect weather.
As a conservative, especially when it comes to property rights, I am especially pleased to see these activities. I know a number of these people who go speeding by my dock in their boats. I see the smiles on their faces as they tow a crew of giggling youngsters on rafts, bouncing, splashing and having a good old time. I know that these young couples, young families aren’t “rich,” by common definition. They are average, middle class families. Mom & Dad have worked hard and saved their pennies. Through dint of hard work and fiscal discipline, they are able to afford a few modest toys. --
