Anthony Scissons, a Dunrobin sheep farmer will be making his second court appearance on Thursday, June 13 at 1:30 PM in room 102, 100 Constellation Crescent, Ottawa, ON – and a large number of supporters plan on being there with him. Mr. Scissons faces six charges levied by Ontario’s Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) under the Ontario Food Safety and Quality Act and Regulation 31/05(Meat).

Major Mark Tijssen of Carlsbad Springs faced these same charges four years ago in what became known as the great tree house caper. Three weeks before a Constitutional trial, all charges against Tijssen were dropped when it was discovered that uniformed officers of the MNR had sat for five days and nights in a tree house, without a search warrant, taking notes and photos of Tijssen and his children. Tijssen is attempting to assist Scissons in defending himself against the $150,000 in charges that he faces; and while both men are legally prevented from discussing the contents of MNR’s disclosure package, it is believed that once again, the need for a search warrant was overlooked. If proven correct, this will represent yet another egregious breech of our Charter by MNR, and place its agents squarely in the category of peeping toms. One also has to question the MNR actions in the levying of charges under a regulation that is legally problematic and is currently undergoing review.

Ontario Landowners Association——

The Ontario Landowners Association shall defend and promote the principal of strong local governments, democracy, and natural justice and represent the interests of the rural community.

For Rural Ontario to survive, Property Rights and judicial reform must be enshrined into law at all three levels of Government, these being; Federal, Provincial, and Municipal.

Rural Ontario is under systematic attack by government bureaucracy and false environmentalism.

The Ontario Landowners have and will continue to expose and meet these threats with determination and resolve in the court of public opinion.
