Ed Bambas, a Michigan Army veteran, lost his GM pension in 2012 and spent years working long cashier shifts to survive. Then TikTok creator Samuel Weidenhofer met him, tipped him $400, and shared his story, and the internet responded with a GoFundMe that raised over $1.18 million from 40,000 donors, including Charlie Puth.

Now, after a lifetime of hard work, Ed can finally retire with dignity and Samuel is planning a special surprise since Ed still uses a flip phone and has no social media.
