....And we had such high hopes

MSNBC dumps Alec Baldwin after only 46 days

I'll admit it. I'm disappointed. When a narcissistic member of the Hollywood elite is given a news-ish talk show on which to vent his obvious anger management issues, you expect great things. ...And now, our hopes are dashed.

Alec Baldwin has been fired from MSNBC after only 46 days. According to a report from Fox News, the ratings-challenged left-wing news network has cancelled "Up Late with Alec Baldwin" after airing just a handful of episodes. It seems Baldwin's off-camera gay slurs, combined with his poor ratings, were enough to make MSNBC think twice about employing someone who appears to be a dangerous, unstable, hothead. Don't worry, though. As long as they're directed at conservative women, MSNBC still has no problem with vile, defamatory on-air rants. So, Martin Bashir's job is safe. We'll certainly miss the potential insanity of Baldwin's show. If only we had a way to give him a proper send off. It's a shame a puppet version of Kim Jong Il never sang a song about him.... Oh wait! A puppet version of Kim Jong Il did sing a song about him! Here it is! Watch out for his saucy language!
