MTV offers handy 'White Guy Resolutions' video explaining why Trump won

How the hip have fallen

””
If you hit your teens in the early 80's, you remember when MTV was, if not great, at least passable. Back then, it was a 24-hour music channel that set trends, defined cool, and helped decimate the record industry. It's slow, steady decline began in the late 80's and, eventually, it withered into what it is today - a sad, barely-solvent, left-wing echo chamber that airs the worst reality shows imaginable.

MTV thinks it's the official voice of millennials

Despite the fact that young people no longer tune in, the little-watched network still seems to think it's the official voice of millennials. Specifically, it believes itself to be the arbiter of all that is politically right and proper for the next generation of Americans. So, they've offered the following commercial, in which super-hip Neutrogena ad rejects present "New Year’s Resolutions for White Guys." It's every bit as awful as you'd expect.

The fun thing here is just how out of touch MTV seems to be. The network that, once upon a time, was the sharpest, wittiest, and most sarcastic TV outlet on Earth has devolved into a miasma of progressive self-parody. The clip above is a comprehensive expose of the attitudes, arrogance, and post-Obama snark that secured Donald Trump's recent win. ...And they appear to have no idea.
