Murders Unsolved
Few events in life are as difficult and painful as the death of a family member or close friend. The unexpected and violent death of a loved one at the hands of another is beyond words and often incomprehensible to the survivors left behind. Family members and close friends are left in a whirlpool of agony, anger, frustration and often remain in a state of seemingly insurmountable emotional upheaval. If you are that family member or close friend, your world as you once knew it has changed forever. You may be gripped by fear or ravaged by guilt, but life as you once knew it will never be the same.
Perhaps the next most difficult and painful situation is the lack of closure that remains when a killer or killers remain unidentified or have otherwise managed to elude or evade justice. Death scene investigations are hardly as neat as they appear on television. Investigations have improved and been assisted by the advancements in forensics, but technology alone cannot solve cases. Investigators – people solve cases with the help of science. And sometimes, for various reasons, investigations break down and justice becomes as elusive as the sense of normalcy once enjoyed by the families of the dead.
It is at that point the “first 48″ hours in the death investigation, as epitomized by the reality television program of the same name, turns from a clock to a calendar, and hours turn to days which extend to weeks, months and even years. The case turns cold, and families and friends of the deceased begin to lose hope as the file is passed from one detective to another.
I’ve experienced this very scenario from both sides. From that position, I believe I’ve gained unique insight into the world of “murders unsolved.” To the families who have lost loved one to homicide or suspected homicide, this site is for you. The dead must not be forgotten, and the living must be assured both justice and closure.
It is the purpose of this site to keep the search for truth and justice alive on behalf of those who no longer can.
