This explains a lot about NBC News

NBC’s senior political editor thinks Obama and Army Ranger Remsberg have very similar stories

If there was one worthwhile moment in last night's dismal State of the Union address, it was unquestionably the story of war hero Cory Remsberg. After serving a staggering 10 deployments, the Army Ranger was severely injured by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. The President honored his service, his struggle, and his strength. The man is a genuine hero, and if you didn't find it moving, well, I feel sorry for you.
Here is that portion of the speech:

You would think the left would be wise enough to leave this alone. If there's one thing you don't want to overtly politicize, it's Remsberg's harrowing story. Unfortunately, that's simply not how the higher-ups at NBC News operate.

If you're NBC’s senior political editor Mark Murray, the incredible similarities between Obama and Remsberg are just impossible to ignore. So, you take to Twitter, and let everyone know that Remsberg's story is very much like Obama's.

Nothing has ever come easy for Obama? Seriously? Even if you set aside the fact that Remsberg has given more in service of his country than Obama would ever dream of giving, you're still left with the "Poor Barry's really had it rough" shtick. Barack Obama is a man for whom everything has come easy. He's coasted through the world, enjoying scholarships to the planet's best schools, endless rounds of golf, and a political career which has granted him a taxpayer-funded rockstar lifestyle. All the while he's been aided by a fawning media which has guaranteed that he never faces the repercussions of his actions. Yet, Murray - whose wife just happens to be Obama's FAA chief of staff - begs to differ. Obama's story is just like that of a wounded warrior who will face a struggle, every day for the rest of his life, just to stand up. Murray made his point more clearly in a blog post on NBCNews.com
Last night’s speech also ended on an emotional -- and upbeat -- note when Obama recognized Army Ranger Cory Remsburg, who was almost killed in Afghanistan and continues to recuperate from a brain injury. “My fellow Americans, men and women like Cory remind us that America has never come easy,” the president said. “Our freedom, our democracy, has never been easy. Sometimes we stumble, we make mistakes; we get frustrated or discouraged. But for more than 200 years, we have put those things aside and placed our collective shoulder to the wheel of progress.” That story could also apply to Obama himself: Nothing in his seven years on the national political stage (2007-2014) has come easy. The 2008 race for the Democratic nomination. Even that general election. The health-care law. The re-election campaign. And now the president’s current situation in which he finds himself bloodied and bruised after the botched health-care rollout. Perseverance is an important quality for any president. Bill Clinton was usually able to talk his way out of sticky situations. But Obama’s M.O. is to grind it out. That, more than anything else, was the message he wanted to send last night -- both he and the country are grinding it out.
Yep. You read that right. The President has been "bloodied and bruised" by his trainwreck healthcare law. To his slavish media allies, that's pretty much the same situation being faced by a brave man who was all but decimated by an IED in Afghanistan. Is it any wonder that NBC News has become such an utter joke? These people are truly sick.
