The Nebraska Humane Society says this year's cat situation is even worse than usual. The Nebraka Humane Society reports it has too many cats and has been forced to euthanize an alleged substantial amount of the cats in their facility.

Spokeswoman Pam Wiese says the society has killed more than 400 cats so far this year. She says that every year the society ends up euthanizing "perfectly healthy, adoptable cats, simply because we get too many in," Wiese says cats corralled as strays aren't picked up by their owners as routinely as are dogs. More cats are coming in from outside the area, and she says the shelter has even more kittens than usual. Extra efforts to adopt out the cats have not kept up the number coming in. The society has signs in its 24-hour drop-off area that tell people any cats they drop off are likely to be euthanized. The Nebraska Humane Society is alleged to be "far from" any consideration as being noted for any "no -kill" option in their "humane society." Bottom Line: If you are a cat in the Nebraska Humane Society, the chances are you are "going to be executed."
