New Political Machines For America

Heretofore I have provided what I think of as a worm's eye view from an average American patriot about conditions in America and the world.  Judi and the gang at Canada Free Press have been kind enough to give me a louder voice than I might otherwise have.  In this article I will be tackling the elephant in the room that is the breeder of the corrupt politicians in America, the political machines of the Republican and Democrat parties. The Republican and Democrat political machines are the most established with the longest history and serve as a pattern for the minor political parties.  The Founding Fathers recognized and feared the direction political parties might take and history demonstrates that their fears were well founded.
"However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion." ~ George Washington
Since 2008, the extent of corruption uncovered in both the Legislative Branch and Executive Branch of the United States Government has been staggering.  Until 2008, most Americans were under the illusion that the federal government could be trusted to deal fairly with Americans most of the time. In retrospect, looking back to pre-2008, the federal government was probably not as honorable as we hoped and expected.  As our awareness of corruption grew, we found evidence and recognized that our view of the government may have been skewed from reality.
"One great error is that we suppose mankind more honest than they are." ~ Alexander Hamilton
In the aftermath of the 2016 and 2020 elections, the extent and degree of corruption in the federal government has been astounding, and Americans from both major political parties are starting to acknowledge it and they are not happy.  Realizing just how bad things are is a hard pill to swallow, but once swallowed people are revolting against the perpetrators that have lied to them for so long.  The corrupt career politicians that make up the criminal enterprise of the Legislature and Executive Branches are responsible for their own behavior and should be held accountable accordingly.  However, that is not the end of it. For the members of the afore mentioned criminal enterprise to be successful, there are the conspirators and enablers of the major political parties.  Without the Democrat and Republican Party machine, the individual career politicians would not achieve what they have achieved.  Without the Party, their backroom deals, and their permission, it is doubtful the corruption would be as extensive as it has become.  The Party has always focused on getting their guys and gals re-elected, always!  Any means to an end.  The parties created career politicians, which simplified acceptance of the corruption culture in American politics today. The Democrat and Republican Parties are as responsible for the level of corruption in America today as the individual corrupt politicians, maybe more so.  The parties encouraged their flock of politicians to do whatever was necessary to get re-elected.  They basically gave permission and even endorsed the required corruption.  The 19th and 20th century political party machine is broken and can only turn out defective career politicians subject to corruption.

New machines that reinforce the Founding Fathers concept of serving in elective office as a privilege and limited opportunity to serve their fellow citizens

New 21st century party machines must be constructed.  New machines that reinforce the Founding Fathers concept of serving in elective office as a privilege and limited opportunity to serve their fellow citizens.  It isn't a career, there is no retirement pay, and after their limited service they will return to being a productive, taxpaying, American citizen.  The new political machines will limit the opportunity for corruption to occur and result in people serving that won't become part of the Washington Beltway bubble, where the only reality is what happens inside the beltway.  The Washington Beltway bubble is not America, but where corruption is accepted and thrives.    There is only one way to fix what's broken and that is to eliminate politics as a career track and that will have to come from the patriotic American voters, who are willing to cut through the political smoke screen from the old party machines.  Career politicians and their old party machines are the problem, not the solution.  Ask yourself, based on your own observations, what have the career politicians really produced?

“Show me a man that gets rich by being a politician, and I'll show you a crook.”

They have given you a monster out-of-control government.  They have given you tax supported law enforcement that their favorite President can use as weapons against their political enemies.  They have literally given you tons of laws and regulation that too often conflict with each other and make it impossible to fully comply with all of them.  They have given you a 29 trillion dollars national debt that your great grandchildren will be paying for.  They are so arrogant that they pass budgets they don't even read themselves and expect you to like it. Do you still think professional career politicians and their minions are your friends?

Will we create a new paradigm and throw a monkey wrench into the political machines?  I certainly hope so.  On November 8, 2022, we will have the opportunity to vote out the high profile bad actors in the House of Representative and about one third of the Senate. Can we do it?  Yes!  But, will we do it? America is most successful when we operate as a country of We the People.  When the corrupt machine took over and we became a culture of “me,” America's downfall began.  With God's help, there is still time for American patriots of every political stripe to return control of the government back to the People as our founders designed it.  Failure to do so means there is a mighty rough road ahead.
