A few thousand Albertans gathered at the Whistle Stop Café in Mirror, AB to celebrate Albertans — joined by EU MP Christine Anderson and PPC leader Maxime Bernier.

I asked a couple in attendance, who reside in Pierre Poilievre’s new riding, about their thoughts on his conservatism. They expressed a lack of confidence.

“Are you kidding me?” the man answered when asked whether he’d vote for him.

“He’s a spineless wuss as far as I’m concerned — pander to the polls, pander to Quebec and Ontario!” he said.

“She is much like Pierre Poilievre — a poll panderer,” said the man, referring to Alberta Premier Danielle Smith.

“She basically sworn her allegiance to King Charles,” the woman pointed out. “So how is she for us?” she asked in relation to advocacy for an independent Alberta.
