Los Angeles DA George Gascon, Inset top: George Soros, Inset Bottom, John Burtis, retired cop

Los Angeles County law enforcement labor partners announced on October 6 that they are sponsoring the upcoming Los Angeles District Attorney Candidate Forum. This organization, which I support because I'm a retired LA cop, has been informed that current far left liberal Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón will be a no show. This decision comes without any provided reason or explanation from the chief Los Angeles County criminal coddler's office.

Increasing gang violence, repeat offenders using the revolving door, supporting victims of violent crime, and the DA's new and unique approach to bail and sentencing policies

The candidate forum is sponsored by several major law enforcement associations – Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs (ALADS), Los Angeles Professional Peace Officers Association (PPOA), and the Association of Deputy District Attorneys (ADDA), which collectively represent thousands of employees working either directly or jointly with D.A. Gascón. The intent behind the event is to promote transparency, address the pressing concerns of law enforcement and citizens alike, and to allow candidates to communicate their vision and plans for the future.

“Our goal with this forum is to have an open and transparent discussion about the important issues facing the DA's office," said ALADS President Richard Pippin. "Candidates running for the office should be prepared to outline their priorities if elected, and explain to the public how they intend to protect and ensure the public safety of the citizens of Los Angeles County. Accountability and communicating a vision for public safety are essential as the people of L.A. decide who they want leading the office into the future.”

Key issues likely to be addressed, according to ALADS, at the forum include increasing gang violence, repeat offenders using the revolving door, supporting victims of violent crime, and the DA's new and unique approach to bail and sentencing policies.

Gascón has received vast financial backing from George Soros, Soros-affiliated organizations, and other far-left mega-donors who hate America

Gascón has received vast financial backing from George Soros, Soros-affiliated organizations, and other far-left mega-donors who hate America. In recent election cycles, these rogue challengers won their races against independent, traditional prosecutors, many of whom hail from the same political party as the new Southpaws.

Though these rogue prosecutors occupy the offices of the district attorney, their goal is not to be the best prosecutors they can be, nor to “increase public safety,” as outlined under the American Bar Association’s professional standards for a prosecutor. (See standard 3-1.2, function and duties of the Prosecutor (American Bar Association 4th ed. 2017)

Rather, Gascón's goals, dressed up in the deceptive and vague Orwellian language of the far left Soros- worshipping fops, is much more sinister: to “fundamentally reverse engineer” the role of the prosecutor. In practice, this activity results in favoring and benefitting defendants--the more violent the better, attacking hard working police officers, shunning victims while opening the all available doors to criminals and illegal aliens, cozying up to criminal defense attorneys and radical cop-defunding extremists.

Gascón’s policies are nothing short of thermonuclear weapons aimed at his own office

When I speak about the changes in Los Angeles with cops here in New Hampshire, they're taken aback and often stand agog as I roll out my best Jackie Gleason vaudeville on the subject. Gascón’s policies, which were issued in a series of Special Directives, which all prosecutors in the office are required to read and know and which have been incorporated into his office’s Legal Policies Manual, are nothing short of thermonuclear weapons aimed at his own office and the often tireless public prosecutors, undercutting and undermining them at every level in the legal performance of their duties.

Written by or with the assistance of his so-called “transition team” or “public policy advisors”— composed of criminal defense attorneys and radical pro-criminal activists—these policies benefit murderers, cop killers, pederasts and adult rapists, career felons, drug dealers and other dangerous criminals. None of his ongoing policies benefit any of the growing number of Los Angeles victims of crime, whose voices are muffled or unheard thanks to the DA's gags on their mouths and the wax in his ears.

Gascón’s policies apply not only to future cases, but also to all ongoing and even past cases

While this all might sound madcap and zany or the subject of a 1950s Tales of Tomorrow TV show, unfortunately, it is not. Gascón sits squarely in the rogue's gallery with Roland Freisler of the Volksgericht (the People's Court).

Unlike all the other elected far left anti-victim prosecutors, Gascón’s policies apply not only to future cases, but also to all ongoing and even past cases, with their ex post facto application, even though the US Constitution says no to ex post facto legal tinkering. It is plainly obvious that LA DA George Gascón’s new "policies" gut and lay waste to the ability of the District Attorney’s office to protect the public, they limit the enforcement of criminal law in Los Angeles County, and they let many violent and armed criminals go free over and over—they even undo many past legal convictions. If the goal of a prosecutor is to seek justice for both the victims of crime and to prosecute the offenders, Gascón has put these quaint notions through the wringer.

But where is George? Why won't he answer or show his face at the candidate's forum? It's probably the last place this thoroughly mendacious nob would want to be.

You won't find Gascón anywhere near a gathering of street cops, their representatives and the media

The sponsoring law enforcement groups, ALADS, PPOA, ADDA, the Los Angeles Police Protective League (LAPPL), the Long Beach Police Officers Association, and the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), all urge Soros' man in Los Angeles, Herr George Gascón, effete politruk, to reconsider his decision to avoid active participation in candidate forums. Because such attendance is critical for open communication with all the people, you won't find Gascón anywhere near a gathering of street cops, their representatives and the media.

I am reminded, always reminded it seems, of that prophetic Rolling Stones' song Sympathy for the Devil, particularly these lines, "...every cop is a criminal and all the sinners' saints..." How did Mick Jagger et al know that's where we'd be today in the City of Angels?

In retrospect, it is now known to all and sundry that the Democrat stool is supported by three legs: illegal immigrants, the dead who overwhelmingly vote Democrat in the US and by criminals from every spectrum and cohort. It's enough to make you weep!

Today, with Antifa, BLM and the mobile street thugs who can strip a department store, a pharmacy or a boutique shop to the bone in two or three minutes, we need no sympathy for this devil.
