North Korea sentences Trump to death ...for calling Kim Jong Un 'fat' There's a good chance you saw President Trump's tweet - in which he very specifically did not call Kim Jong Un a little fatty - when it appeared last weekend. If you missed it, here you go:
On one hand, it's childish, it's weird, and it was probably one of those times when Trump probably should have backed away from the keyboard. On the other hand, it was also funny, and this country has a nice long tradition of mocking dictators. So, it became one of those moments where media lefties started panicking and wringing their hands, while everyone else chuckled and moved on. Everyone else, that is, except Kim Jong Un. Apparently, the portly, bowl-cutted dictator was none too pleased with the President's trolling. His widdle feewings were hurt, so North Korea has issued a death sentence for the American President. The proclamation came in an editorial published by North Korea's ruling party newspaper Rodong Sinmun. Yes, really. A portion of the outrage stems from Trump calling North Korea "hell," as Newsweek reports:
The state-controlled North Korean media took a week to react to the president’s words, but the commentary published Wednesday both addressed Trump’s speech and reiterated some key points of the North Korean rhetoric. It repeated the idea that North Koreans won’t cower in front of a “rabid dog’s barking” and that Trump’s hostility represents a “declaration of war.”

According to the commentary, Trump committed four capital offenses in criticizing Kim’s leadership, North Korea’s society, lifestyle and history—North Korea contests the events sparking the Korean War, claiming it was invaded rather than being the invading force. “Trump, who is no more than an old slave of money, dared point an accusing finger at the sun. He should know that he is just a hideous criminal sentenced to death by the Korean people,” the commentary read. “He will be forced to pay dearly for his blasphemy any moment,” it continued, “The one who violated the dignity of the people and insulted them should never expect their pardon.”
However, Newsweek (who we're sure is eager to take the Norks' side on this) failed to mention one thing. It's not the "accusations" that have Kim Jong Un's panties in a bunch. It's the "fat thing." From the Guardian:
“The worst crime for which he can never be pardoned is that he dared [to] malignantly hurt the dignity of the supreme leadership,” the editorial said.

There it is. He dared to insult North Korea's glory of glories, the exalted 18-hole-in-one shooting supreme leader, Kim Jong Un. ...A man who is not fat, and whose belly does not shake like a bowl full of jelly. He is, to put it bluntly, the perfect physical example of the modern-day, monstrous, iron-fisted dictator.
