A nurse is facing charges after a father in a hospital caught her on a cellphone video recording slamming his newborn baby face down in a bassinet.
29-year-old Amanda Burke was fired within hours of the parents reporting the incident to the Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffolk County in New York.
The video only captures a sliver of the actions of the nurse through a nursery window at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit from February 6.

The father, Fidel Sinclair, said he just happened to be recording his 2-day-old baby at the time.
"I don’t know, it just broke me," Sinclair said. "I didn’t know what to do."
Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney later announced that Burke had been charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Tierney described the charges as "truly disturbing." ---More...
