Obama maintains a dangerous silence while the mid-east burns

While the Middle East burns and Americans are murdered, Barack Obama says nothing. He’s too busy campaigning and fundraising. By September 12, the day after demonstrators began their attacks against our embassies and brutally murdered four Americans, Obama was in Las Vegas for a fundraiser.
In the days following, as more embassies felt the rage of Muslims throughout the region, Obama went about his business as though nothing had happened, and has uttered few words in reference to the tragedies. In the minds of many, silence indicates either weakness, or acquiescence, and the powers that be in the Middle East perceive both perfectly in this president. They have been chomping at the bit to consolidate their power but the United States has always been an inconvenient obstacle. Now they feel the U.S. is stepping back from the region and pulling back its influence, thus creating a power vacuum. They, the Muslim Brotherhood, Hezbollah, al Qaeda and other Islamic organizations, see this as their opportunity to step in, grab the power, and take control.

And so, as they step in to fill the void, they’re using the people to do it for them. The poorly done fifth-rate video is just a pretext. And Obama sits back and says nothing. Oh, I take that back, his administration apologized to the perpetrators. But this has all resulted from the colossal failure of his mid-east policy, which is no real policy at all. And he maintains his silence. In an article for the American Spectator, Ben Stein wrote, “The failure of the administration to stand up to Muslim thugs is a big issue. Apologizing to terrorists is a big issue. The failure to protect our diplomats is a big issue. The failure to stand up for free speech is a huge issue.” Obama had the chance to stand up to the demonstrators instead of apologizing to them. Knowing the volatility of the region, he should have made sure all our diplomats were well-protected before the fact. And finally, he should have espoused unconditional support of the First Amendment in the throes of the protest. He has failed miserably in every arena, but it wouldn’t have served his purpose. Obama wants unrest in the world, because it helps his re-election bid. After all, he might point out that it could be dangerous to change horses in mid-stream. He wants to undermine the First Amendment and the entire Constitution, because then, the power of the Federal Government—his power—grows, and the power of the people shrinks. So while the mid-east goes up in a conflagration and our embassies and military bases come under attack, Obama maintains his silence because of a combination of weakness and acquiescence. He is incompetent and failed to grow into the presidency. At heart, he’s nothing more than a community organizer with a vision of tyranny and deceit. And the rest of the world knows this as well. Can we really trust him to continue to steer the ship of state?
