After forty years of Democrat led legislative blockades on domestic oil exploration and production, why are Americans shocked to find their country 70% dependent upon foreign oil and why are they still listening to Democrats who promise to make matters even worse?
The self-proclaimed Messiah of Hope and Change, Barack Obama, is scrambling to come up with a marketable energy policy that will calm the nerves of American voters, while providing cover for fellow Democrats responsible for creating the crisis over the last forty years.
Following the Marxist lead of Speaker Pelosi and Senate leader Reid, he is proposing that the federal government confiscate earnings from the American oil companies (and everyone who owns stock in those companies) in order to send $1000 relief checks to families angry over the +$4.00 per gallon gas prices. In other words, he is promising to rob Peter to buy Paul.
As George Bernard Shaw once wrote, "A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul."
We see this all the time in modern American politics. Paul believes in his right to personal liberty, especially economic equality. But in order to pay for his personal economic equality, he also believes in his right to rob Peter of his privately earned belongings, and any politician willing to rob Peter on Paul’s behalf, will have Paul’s support.
Obama is Paul’s New Messiah
Democratic Socialists have chosen Barack Obama as the new charismatic face on their very old agenda. He was not chosen for his leadership ability, since he possesses no such ability or experience.
He was chosen for his ability to follow. He was chosen because he isn’t just an empty suit with a blank résumé; he’s a blob of clay that can be easily molded to suit whatever the puppet masters desire.
Obama’s latest three point energy policy is not his own

In fact, all three of these points were opposed by Obama only days or weeks ago. Only days ago, Obama’s personal energy policy was limited to a suggestion that every American should over-inflate their tires in an effort to get better gas mileage…
But the “great leader” has since fallen in line behind those pulling his strings. Point three (McCain’s) was just a bone intended to demonstrate his ability to “compromise.” But trust me, there’s no meat on that bone! The lefts energy regressive policy is really limited to only points one and two… stepping stones towards their long-term goal of the often unspoken item three…

Nationalize the trillion dollar energy cash cow (Democratic Socialists policy)
They have the support of what I call the “what’s in it for me constituency.” (aka, Paul)
If you ask most Americans if they want their federal government to manage the energy industry the same way they managed Social Security and Medicare (into bankruptcy), they will say “hell no!”
But for a lousy thousand bucks, all of the Pauls, the “what’s in it for me constituency,” will jump in line. You have seen them applauding Obama’s move on private oil industry profits as the great Messiah panders for their votes at campaign stop after campaign stop.
Paul is self-centered, myopic and Short Sighted
In short, Paul is a selfish idiot who will sell out his mother for a few dollars. He’s uneducated and not the least concerned with the facts.
Although Obama and his puppet master Democratic Socialists continue to insist that unleashing domestic production will do nothing for current prices, Oil Futures have already fallen from their high of $147.27 a barrel only a few weeks ago, to $118 a barrel today, on the mere speculation that Democrats will soon be forced to lift their forty year blockade on domestic production.
Paul is foolish enough to overlook these and many other facts in pursuit of a lousy thousand bucks. This is how Paul thinks on every issue.
The unspoken natural consequences of Paul’s childish behavior
Paul never asks himself what happens when “the rich” take their football and move to a new game on a foreign field of opportunity, where his private earned assets are safe from confiscation.
The intentional affront on the individual liberty and freedom of those whom Paul will ask his government to rob on his behalf, will eventually result in Peter’s retreat from the market in defense of his private earned assets. In order to protect his private property, Peter will move his assets off-shore to a safer haven, leaving Paul to fend for himself from an empty public trough.
With no new investors, the oil industry will return to losses, and with red ink running all over their financial reports, future domestic production will be dead in the water.
Instead of moving America towards less dependence upon foreign oil, attacking domestic producers and reducing strategic reserves will only move America towards deeper dependence, which will result in even higher oil future speculation and higher prices at the pumps.
In addition, any “windfall” tax levied against the oil companies will be passed down to consumers at the pump in the form of higher retail prices.
The move to nationalize a trillion dollar industry is all but complete at this stage.
The Democrat energy policies that brought America from 40% dependence on foreign oil forty years ago to 70% dependence today seem progressive to Paul.
The long-term consequence of Paul’s ignorance is a modern form of personal indentured servitude to his master, the federal government. His labor is eventually expected, in return for the gifts from the public trough which must one day be repaid.
Where is the “great leader” leading you to?
In a word, he’s leading you into socialism. - Karl Marx wrote that “Democracy is the road to socialism.” That’s because Marx understood something that Thomas Jefferson also understood - something too many Americans (Paul’s) fail to comprehend today.

Jefferson also proclaimed for future generations, “A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor and bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government.” - And that “I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”
Yet Paul is all about using the power of his federal government to waste the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. When “the Pauls” account for 51% of the active electorate, they will use that power to take away the rights of the other forty-nine. They have demonstrated this over and over again.
Today’s Democrat Party platform is built upon the ideas of Marx, not Jefferson. Barack Obama is not the leader of this socialist circus, but rather the follower, a mere mouthpiece for the Democratic Socialists he has been following all of his life.
Their answer to every challenge, be it health care, energy or even national security, is more government, less individual freedom. And so long as they promise Paul a piece of the action, Paul will support their move towards socialism via the democratic process.
Jefferson said, “All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.”
The people are beginning to speak up! More than 70% of Americans are now calling upon Democrat leaders in congress to return from their vacation and lift their forty year ban on domestic energy production.
Oil speculators are responding to that American demand for more domestic production, retreating from their $147 per barrel high to $118 per barrel today. Most Americans get the obvious message in oil trader’s actions. Why don’t Democrats?
Meanwhile, Democrats continue their blockade against the will of the people they are sworn to represent, Barack Obama is promising to follow that lead, and Paul continues to clamor at Obama’s feet in his effort to rob Peter for a lousy thousand bucks from the public trough…
Paul is a public dependent, and as Jefferson warned, “Dependence begets subservience and venality, suffocates the germ of virtue, and prepares fit tools for the designs of ambition.”
Today, Paul is a “fit tool” for the designs of Obama’s ambition. But Peter knows something that Paul doesn’t know…

Paul bets his future on false promises and failed ideas of the past, which represent the idea that Peter can be forever robbed of the fruits of his labor, without ever wising up and retreating from constant attack upon his property.
Somehow, Paul thinks his socialist notions are “progressive.” But Peter knows that no notion on earth is as regressive and destructive as the concept of socialism. And Peter is retreating to foreign markets where free enterprise is the new progressive idea bringing nations previously unable to feed themselves under socialism or communism, out of poverty.
This election is about Paul vs. Peter. Every election of the last thirty years has been about Paul vs. Peter. Peter was slow to catch on, but Peter is wising up…
Soon, Paul and his leaders will be left to their own self-induced misery, when Peter tires of being run over and opts out of the game. If Obama becomes president, it may be sooner than they think…
