Obama Tries To 'Guilt' Black Men Into Voting For Harris

It came off as narrow concerns of a liberal with a year 'round suntan. Not quite sounding like a Brother in good standing

Former President Barack Obama has a “tough talk” at the Black voters for Harris event in East Liberty. He addressed that Black men have not been as enthused about Harris as during his first run, and he sought to encourage them to join Harris’ movement.

During two presidential campaigns and White House terms, former president Obama rarely addressed 'the Brothers', meaning Black men- a historic demographic whose narrative he appropriated to advance agendas of outsiders.

He recently did so at a 'Black Men For Harris' event, with viral results.

Critics, myself included, felt it was a national 'guilting' session designed to shame Black men into supporting a 2024 Democratic establishment selectee who doesn't move a number of us.

Allegations of liberal heresy like misogyny or ingratitude toward the Democratic establishment bounce off of Brothers outside that bubble- which is most of us.

Dissenting Black men don't live in the progressive bubble where our priorities are handed to us. We live outside of it and see we're not one of its top priorities.

His talk to those attendees was actually an address to Black men as a whole.

It came off as narrow concerns of a liberal with a year 'round suntan. Not quite sounding like a Brother in good standing.

I type the above as a Brother in good standing, active in the Black struggle outside the progressive bubble, who voted twice against him.

He tried to 'guilt' Black men into voting for Harris and only reinforced why those opposed or underwhelmed feel the way we do.

She, like he, represents an outside ideology, not the internal reality of our community.
