Obama vetoes bipartisan Keystone XL bill - and his reason is comedy gold

Barack Obama has vetoed a bipartisan bill that would have initiated construction. John Boehner wasted no time blasting the President's idiotic decision, saying:

“The president’s veto of the Keystone jobs bill is a national embarrassment. It’s embarrassing when Russia and China are plowing ahead on two massive pipelines and we can’t get this one no-brainer of a project off the ground. The president is just too close to environmental extremists to stand up for America’s workers. He’s too invested in left-fringe politics to do what presidents are called on to do, and that’s put the national interest first."

The best part? Obama's justification for his veto is pure comedy gold. As he says, the Keystone bill "conflicts with established Executive Branch procedures." Here's the statement: This is an oblique reference to the State Department's Keystone XL review, which is designed to decide if an obviously worthwhile oil pipeline from Canada is in the "national interest." That review has been stalling ongoing for a staggering six years now. In other words, we could have fought World War II over one-and-a-half times during the deliberation period. That, however, is not the funny part. The funny part is that we're actually supposed to believe that a rogue President who rules with an almost violent disregard for the separation of powers is suddenly concerned with "established Executive Branch procedures." If "established Executive Branch procedures" are to be the new norm, I guess it's time to fully implement ObamaCare and end his illegal executive actions on amnesty....
