Obama: We don’t really honor shooting victims unless we pass my gun control proposals

The MSM falls all over itself telling us that this guy is the "consoler-in-chief," which is funny because a real consoler would express the sympathy of the nation, offer support and encouragement . . . that sort of thing. Not him. Nope.
Your relative's death is my opportunity to push a political agenda, and if the nation doesn't give me what I want, that death is in vain. Feast your eyes:
"If we really want to honor these 12 men and women, if we really want to be a country where we can go to work and go to school and walk our streets free from senseless violence without so many lives being stolen by a bullet from a gun, then we're going to have to change," the president said.

Inherent in this pronouncement is the none-too-subtle implication that the character of the nation bears heavy responsibility for the actions of Alexis, and of Lanza, and of every other mass shooter. It's not the evil of the individuals who pulled the triggers. It's us. We're going to have to change. Obama works up more indignation about the fact that people don't buy his policy prescriptions than he does about the killings themselves. I actually think he does this with no real sense of irony. He is that into himself that he really believes disagreement with him is tantamount to the trashing of the shooting victims. He doesn't even care that his own press secretary acknowledged his gun control proposals wouldn't have stopped the shootings. Obama's got an agenda, and backing Obama's agenda is the only way to honor the victims. You don't agree with his gun control ideas, well, you better change! And if you don't, he'll harangue you endlessly because the next time this happens, it's on you, buddy. What an insufferable bore this guy is.
