Obama: An untrustworthy politician who only knows how to spend the wealth of a nation, but not create it

Obama: You Can’t Fool All the People

I’ve been mulling over the phenomenon known as President Obama lately, and keep coming back to Abraham Lincoln’s immortal words: “You may fool all the people some of the time, you can even fool some of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all the time."

In this case, we can substitute the word “people” with the word “Democrats”. We Republicans saw through Obama’s subterfuge pretty darn quickly last year. However, Democrats bought this unknown politician’s ridiculous ideas for the country last November hook, line and sinker. It didn’t matter how unrealistic (Let’s give up our nuclear arms!), dangerous (I want to have a chat with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad!), or downright scary (“We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded [as the military].”) Obama’s positions were. They ate it up and asked for more. Some of my other personal favorites from the Presidential race were his 18 month withdrawal plan for Iraq that he promoted for well over 2 years! According to Obama’s original plan, we would have been out of Iraq way back in 2007. Of course this didn’t happen and, to this very day, we still have 160,000 troops over there. And yet he still insists that no changes are necessary to his withdrawal timetable. Am I missing something? Or who could forget: "I can no more disown him (Rev. Jeremiah Wright) than I can disown the black community” in his famous race speech in March 2008. I seem to recall the liberal press saying things like what a “historical” moment it was and how “schoolchildren were going to be reading these words for generations to come.” Of course 2 weeks later, when Rev. Wright had the temerity to go on national TV and say all of the racially charged things he’d been saying for well over 30 years, and let’s be honest Democrats, he was pretty well-known for these opinions, Obama promptly tossed his preacher under a bus. So much for future generations reading the Obama race speech! Another shocker, also from the same speech, was when Obama described his grandmother as “a woman who once confessed her fear of black men who passed her on the street and who, on more than one occasion, has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe.” It used to be an insult when you would refer to a politician as someone who would sell out his own Mother. Well, no more. Obama called his Grandmother a racist, in public, to the entire world! I’m pretty sure this could be described as something new in politics. Maybe it’s our simple-minded (as Democrats like to label us) conservative way of seeing things: We believe, amongst other things, there is such a thing as right and wrong, there is evil in the world and it must be confronted, and that having a strong moral compass is absolutely essential. We also believe, as did Abraham Lincoln, in “government: of the people, by the people, for the people” and not the other way around. It’s amazing how simple the solutions to our problems are when you look at life through conservative lenses: Foreign policy -- support democracies and confront tyrants. Economy -- give the money back to the people. Freedom of Speech -- this is good, even for conservative talk radio. Government -- keep it small. Guess what, it actually works! Finally, there are signs that Obama supporters may finally be waking up to the fact that they elected the wrong man for President. The Gallup Poll on Wed showed Obama’s approval rating dropping to 56%, the lowest it has been since he took office, and his Rasmussen Presidential Approval Index rating is now at –5, the lowest figure since his inauguration (or was it coronation -- he keeps apologizing to world like he was our king!). The biggest reason for his decrease in popularity? It’s the economy stupid. According to Rasmussen, 52% of Americans feel the economy is getting worse while only 24% say it is getting better. Apparently everyone loves to be an idealist, until hits them in the pocketbook. With unemployment at 9.4% and climbing fast, Obama will soon pass Jimmy Carter in this particular point of failure. The only thing that will save us now is a massive change in course. The complete defeat of Cap and Trade in the Senate and the failure of the God Knows What Those Crazy Democrats Have in Mind for Us Healthcare Legislation would be a good start. Without this, Obama’s policies, the proverbial brick around the nation’s neck, are just going to keep dragging us down. The worse the economy gets, the more people are going to see President Obama for who he truly is: an untrustworthy politician who only knows how to spend the wealth of a nation, but not create it…and those pesky approval ratings will continue to fall and fall and fall.
