ObamaCare implementation train wreck

ObamaCare ‘navigators’ will have access to your personal data, but don’t worry!

The latest from the ObamaCare implementation train wreck: You know that thing you've never purchased because you a) couldn't afford to; or b) didn't want because it's a complete ripoff? That would be health insurance, and now the law says you have to purchase it whether you want it or not, because all in! Liberals' systems are foolproof as long as you difficult people don't screw the up by choosing not to participate, so we simply won't have that.
At any rate, ObamaCare is so confusing that the federal government is trying to give away millions to liberal political groups community-minded nonprofits who will then train people as "navigators," and these people will guide you through the complex morass that is signing up for ObamaCare. That is not going so well, as the ObamaCare implementation date is set for Oct. 1 and the groups who are supposed to do the hiring only just received the training materials a few days ago. But the rest of us might be better off if the "navigators" are never hired, since part of their job is to be poking around in people's private data like Social Security, tax returns and household income. That's because part of their job is to let people know if they're eligible for subsidies, but needless to say it presents the potential for privacy issues in the event a less-than-responsible "navigator" gets in the picture. A report from the Pew Charitable Trusts says states want to exercise more legal oversight over the "navigators," as they're not convinced the Obama Administration's sterling training efforts will be sufficient to protect consumer privacy. That, of course, has ObamaCare apologists upset:

But the federal law doesn’t bar states from passing their own laws on navigators, including those that have set up their own exchanges, as long as they don’t interfere with the implementation of the reforms. Supporters of the health care law suspect that some of these actions are meant to stymie the reforms. “We don’t think the laws that are being passed are necessary,” said Christine Barber, a senior policy analyst with Community Catalyst, a nonprofit advocacy organization promoting affordable health care. “The standards have been passed at the federal level. The laws passed at the state level …will slow down the process.” Proponents of these state measures disagree. To Jason Rapert, a Republican state senator in Arkansas, state licensing is a matter of consumer protection for his constituents. He sponsored legislation requiring state licensure of navigators even though the exchange in his state will be run in partnership with the federal government. “If we are going to have to endure the Affordable Care Act,” Rapert said, “then we need to make sure that people aren’t taken advantage of.” Some of the state laws are meant to supplement the navigators’ federal training with state-specific education. ACA advocates say other state-required training seems to be the same as the federal training. The new certification and licensure requirements in a number of states, including Georgia, Nevada and Utah, leave little time to get those programs up and running before the Oct. 1 start date. “Absolutely that is a concern,” said Elaine Saly, a health policy analyst with Families USA, which is aligned with the Obama administration.
Let's review. The law is so complicated that no one can understand it so the Obama Administration is spending $67 million (and they're $15 million over budget by the way) so liberal groups can hire "navigators" to explain it to you. The liberal groups are so behind schedule they're scurrying to get the training materials in place and do the hiring. And when states insist on implementing measures to ensure that consumer privacy is protected, Obama allies scream that there is no time for that! Yep. America under ObamaCare is going to be fantastic. You can just feel it, can't you?
