Administration spin: inept, not corrupt

Obamanomics: a bitter harvest

The admission by Vice President Joe Biden last weekend that the Obama administration “misread how bad the economy was” is nothing more than an effort on the part of that administration to position itself as inept rather than corrupt. But the only logical conclusion one could draw from observing the actions of the Obama administration, particularly in economic policy, is that the President finds it in his and his party’s best interest to prolong and worsen the current economic crisis, which in my book would make the administration corrupt.

How else could one explain the urgency with which Obama wanted to institute his “stimulus” package”, which most economists not on the Democrats’ payroll decried as “economic suicide”? And now the administration is surprised that the unemployment numbers are headed to the north of 10%? I would not be surprised if American unemployment exceeded the 10.75%, which was the high point of the Carter administration. Given the level of spending that the US government has undertaken and the degree of control President Obama is seeking to exercise over the economy, no one in their right mind could possibly believe the outcome could be any less than disastrous. Throughout modern history, whenever government appropriated the lion’s share of available capital, the result was inflation, excessively high interest rates and crippling unemployment. And so it is with this administration.

I believe Barack Obama is an evil genius whose desire to impose absolute control over the lives of all Americans

As I wrote in these pages on January 19 of this year (here) “Like Chance, the protagonist of Jerzy Kosinski’s 1971 book Being There, Barack Obama’s pronunciations over the past year could be taken as a deeply profound insight into the nature of the human conditions, or the musings of a guileless innocent who really doesn’t know what he is saying.” I wanted to give the new president the benefit of the doubt, as I truly believe that no one could be so misinformed as to believe that the US Government (or ANY government, for that matter) could fix the economy. Especially if what’s wrong with the economy was precipitated by that same government’s policies. I no longer entertain the idea that Obama is some sort of idiot savant with an unusual gift to influence large groups of people through an uncanny skill in making meaningless speech seem like profound thought. I believe Barack Obama is an evil genius whose desire to impose absolute control over the lives of all Americans quite possibly could result in the irreparable destruction of our economy. Worse, the US economy has dominated and set the tone for the world economy for over 65 years and is now in danger of being eclipsed.

America is in grave danger from “enemies within”

This in itself would not be a bad thing, as times and conditions change. However, in this instance the decline and change of the American economy, our way of life and our exceptionality are being engineered by a president who has not once found it within himself to let his countrymen know what his end game really is. And he is abetted by a Congress as corrupt as any political body found in some of the dodgier Third-World nations on earth. To say that America is in grave danger from “enemies within” is a gross understatement. The enemy is no longer at the gates, but has breached them and has managed to gain control in a bloodless coup.
