New Media is attracting too large an audience, it is growing in credibility and gnawing on the heels of the MSM

Old media propagandists have nowhere left to hide

When you can’t beat them, ignore them. When you can no longer ignore them, discredit them. When you can’t discredit them, get the president to attempt to rescue you. The next line in this train of thought is still to be written.

Support Canada Free Press

This pretty much describes the state of the mainstream media (MSM) on this continent and its efforts to stop the rising tide of news junky dismay, scepticism and waning confidence in the old media. I saw a great manifestation of the fear that is now griping the MSM as it is being eclipsed by the emerging media of the right in a broadcast by the obnoxious CNN anchor Rick Sanchez. He rose up in self-righteous indignation over a commercial supposedly broadcast by Fox News criticizing CNN for its lack of coverage of the Washington and other Tea Party demonstrations across the country. The ad proved to be a hoax. To prove CNN was on top of things, Sanchez trotted out three clips showing they were there. The funny thing was one of the clips showed a CNN reporter cheerleading anti-tea party demonstrators. What CNN and Sanchez and the rest of the line-up at CNN do not obviously understand is that it’s not whether their news crews showed up at any particular event, it’s the slant and the tone that is produced out of the coverage and the obvious overwhelming love they have for President Obama. Sorry, love is not the right word. I was think more of adoration because most of them swoon whenever Obama’s his name is involved. Shortly after that little sniffle, President Barack Obama rises to support his personal MSM propaganda agents prostituting their services to the administration by denouncing Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and my favourite guy with a buzz cut, Glenn Beck. Now you have to ask yourself why would the most powerful leader in the world stoop to attempting to browbeat guys like Limbaugh and Beck? Does he not have more important tasks at hand? Apparently not. The reason he has joined the catfight is because the New Media is attracting too large an audience, it is growing in credibility and gnawing on the heels of the MSM who are feeling the heat of real competition that is not afraid to tell the truth. And I don’t mind saying that Canada Free Press has been on the leading edge of the battle to expose the MSM, its alliances and its failure to uphold traditional and honest journalism. Whatever pain the MSM is going through, both economic and audience wise, has been brought on by their own transformation into dancing marionettes for left of centre political and environmental lobbying machines on this continent. Everybody knows the stories about vampires. They’re the guys who flit around in the shadows draining the blood out of the living. Other than a stake through the heart, the only way to get rid of them, according to legend, is to expose them to light. Bring them out of the shadows and they wither away and die. Isn’t that what is happening to the MSM? So now we have White House staffers calling Fox News an arm of the Republican Party and saying how CNN uses credible sources along with the president telling Americans not to listen to Limbaugh. But I think what really woke up Americans, both Republican and some Democrats is the disgraceful treatment Sarah Palin got at the hands of the MSM during the presidential campaign. I also believe that many people have come to realize that if the MSM did that to Palin, it could and would do it to anybody. How all the pretty faces on CNN and in other media can smugly look themselves in the mirror and claim to be professional journalists is beyond me. And just because I am a Canadian I am not excluding the MSM here from the sorry state of their brand of journalism. There is an old tactic used in war. That tactic dictates that when you are losing, go on the offensive. I expect you will see more attacks from the MSM Obama worshippers against those news outlets that have the temerity to challenge their motives. Bring it on boys, bring it on.
