Sickening Aspects of Obama’s Health Care Plan

Opposition to Obama’s Plea to Give His Legislative “Changes” More Time to Kick In

One of President Obama’s latest public arguments is that it took a lot of time for the slaves to be freed and for minorities and women to get the right to vote, and the civil rights they finally have, so the American people should (G-d forbid) give him more time for his changes to take effect, ranging from his “stimulus” plans to his tax plans to his health care plans, and so on, to perhaps more thousand-page not-fully-read plans not yet hatched and foisted onto the American public.

Sure it took generations for slavery to be abolished and for various civil rights to be granted, but once specific Constitutional Amendments or U.S. specific laws are passed, it normally takes a few months, at most, to begin their implementation. Ironically, however, it was Obama and his cohorts who built into the health care legislation that many of its key counterproductive provisions will not even begin to take effect until after the next presidential election, but despite their sponsors’ best efforts to delude the American people, some counterproductive effects have already become apparent. The irony of Obama’s plea for patience with his plans to move the country “forward” should hit all analysts like a steel anchor! At the outset, this is the same Obama who was in such a rush to enact his economic and health care overhauls which arguably undermine our country that he insisted on rushing them through Congress before even the members of either chamber of the legislature could reasonably be expected to read them fully, let alone the American people. Obama’s surrogate in the House of Representatives (Nancy Pelosi) famously exhorted everyone to vote “now” (without knowing what was in the bill), and find out what’s in the legislation later, after it would be enacted. Actually, the legislative bills were so full of hidden mines, like reefs in uncharted waters, that most Americans will never find out about many of them until it will be too late, since even if the Republicans re-take at least one chamber of Congress, they will still lack the power to undo Obama’s damage until the next presidential election takes effect, and the current Congress can still continue to duck the will of the American people and to do more sweeping damage in a lame duck session. (Even mainstream polls are showing that the majority of Americans with the right to vote are now dissatisfied with the stimulus bills and especially the health care overhaul legislation.) On the subject of damage, Obama the purported “uniter” and not divider continues to most unpresidentially and repeatedly blame the economic “mess” we are in on the Republicans in general, and President Bush in particular. Yet even the liberal Time Magazine, in an analysis of “The 25 People to Blame for the Financial Crisis,” ranked President George W. Bush as no higher than 14th, behind, among others, the Democratic President Bill Clinton.

Why It Is Hard to Bank on Obama’s Economic Legislation

The reason why Obama has been reduced to the desperate argument that his over-promoted overhauls need more time to produce positive benefits is that the American people have already seen many of the negative outcomes, and this is even before many of the bills’ clauses take effect. Subsequent to the time when the stimulus packages were passed, the American people have already seen
  1. unemployment go up and
  2. even the employed people are under-employed with lower paying jobs, or have to work more hours for less take home pay, as
  3. all kinds of taxes, “fees,” and “surcharges” have been created or raised, and
  4. new products and services are getting taxed that were not taxed before or are becoming vulnerable to such taxes, fees, and surcharges;
  5. the prospect of small businesses having to pay for more benefits for more employees has caused many of them to hire fewer rather than more employees, setting off a chain reaction of negative consequences for the economy;
  6. the devastating economic news continues to discourage further investment,
  7. the tantalizing uncertainty of today’s markets is abhorrent to the movers and shakers in the business world, and
  8. the more that “rich” people and viable companies get taxed, the less even many “rich” individuals can buy and pay for in goods and services, and the fewer people all companies with raised taxes and operating costs can employ in the United States, so fewer goods get produced, more people get laid off, and all the working classes will continue to suffer, in a continuing downward spiral of chain reactions.

Sickening Aspects of Obama’s Health Care Plan

Unfortunately, the American people did not have to wait generations to see the devastating effects of Obama’s health care legislation. Health insurance rates are already shooting up, so only people who are already brain dead can fail to realize the emptiness of the promise that health costs under ObamaCare will go down. And when demand will rise further with tens of millions of additional people covered by the same finite number of health care specialists, real costs of real health care are sure to rise further. Once illegal aliens will get full citizenship, as Obama proposes, they will all of course be entitled to federally- and employer-subsidized health care, and because we barely have enough doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals now, with hospitals already closing instead of opening, there surely will not be enough to go around to accommodate the people who will no longer be illegal, and others, so even some of the most retarded Americans are already realizing that there will be longer waits and longer lines for health care for most Americans, and just as justice delayed is justice denied, health care delayed is health care denied, resulting in fewer medical appointments when needed, missed operations, and lost opportunities to recover from increasing illnesses and conditions, for the majority of Americans. Inevitably, not only will insurance rates continue to spiral, but because of the inevitable delays for crucial life-saving treatment, people in need of prompt health care will inevitably have to go outside of their insurance plans to pay for certain office visits and hospital procedures out of their own pockets in addition to what they pay their insurance companies, leading to further economic hardships and additional personal bankruptcies. When Obama’s handlers aren’t burying counterproductive clauses in fine print, leading to actual premature burials in the geriatric and general populations, they are conceding that at the end of each line of impatient would-be patients, the bottom line is that ObamaCare will care more for more young people (including current illegal aliens and their offspring) than for old people (including current taxpayers and their parents). The health care bill openly provides that certain illnesses now covered by health care will be covered by hospice care instead, for people over a certain age, meaning they will be forced to die slowly and comfortably instead of being cured rapidly and completely. It is true that there may not be “death panels” per se that will condemn the elderly to die immediately, but there will be panels that will surely encourage some people over 60 years of age to roll over and die rather than to fight for their lives, not to mention new government guidelines allotting limited procedures and organs to people who will be judged by Obama’s evaluators to be of the least future benefit to society (and even that, by the definition of Obama and his cohorts in power), again pitting “old” taxpayers against young present tax evaders and law breakers. (For further discussion in opposition to health care legislation that favors universal subsidized coverage, see my article in the Canada Free Press entitled, “Proponents of Universal Health care: Undermining Quality Health Care, War on Terror, U.S. Economy,” Oct 29, 2008 ).

Conclusion

Yes, fellow Americans, I have no doubt that President Obama means well, especially for those who are here illegally (and not simply here to avoid persecution). Yes, fellow Americans, I believe we should give Obama all the time he wants. Just not the time to further implement his counterproductive proposals, but rather, within the next two years – if he will not have been impeached earlier – he should be encouraged to spend less time vacationing and more time reading (possibly for the first time) every page of his own laws, and he should be encouraged to spend a good part of the balance of his time revealing their counterproductive aspects to the American people, and then working to repeal these counterproductive aspects in an honest and bipartisan manner.
